Obama's Transparency - The Great Lie

Remember when Obama campaigned on greater transparency? Like all liberals, he lied.

And now, the instructions are for the federal government to lie even more!

The Justice Department is being criticized by open government groups for proposing a regulation that would in rare instances allow federal law enforcement agencies to tell people seeking information under the Freedom of Information Act that the government has no records on a subject, when it actually does.

Death of the Euro

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Greece has all but collapsed, and Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, and a whole host of others, are not too far behind. The idea of the confederacy we know as the European Union was to compete with America's great economy, but Europe failed because they don't understand what makes America great. America is great because of its free market system, and because America is good. America is a republic, where a central government exists to protect and preserve the union, yet the States enjoy autonomy. A strong federal government on issues concerning the union, and a limited federal government on all other issues that must be addressed by the States.

Europe's experiment failed because of liberalism.

With a last ditch effort, Europe is trying to do whatever it can to stay afloat. The leaders are concocting a grand plan of spending and bail outs to prevent future fiscal or financial crises from threatening the single currency.

But they know it is falling apart. Bob Rinear on my radio program told me only a few weeks ago that Germany is printing Deutsche Marks in preparation for the collapse.

The politicians are arguing that more centralization is needed to save the union. As they face collapse caused by statism, they are calling for more statism to save themselves.

It won't be long now, before the countries of Europe are individuals again.

Man-Made Global Warming Myth Brings Snowstorms

As the Northeast is slammed by a snowstorm, the reality of the man-made global warming myth is becoming all too clear. The lies, and the ease in which the tools of the liberal left has fallen for these lies, are incredible.

American Thinker has a piece on it that really drives the truth home. . .

Imagine that you are a climate scientist and the Earth is threatened with a climate disaster. You need to warn the people of Earth and lobby Earth's governments. If you are tired of poring over boring computer printouts, you may be only too ready to accept this mission of transcendent importance.

On the other hand, maybe you have lost touch with reality. Maybe you have become a true believer fighting a dubious battle. Maybe you are Dr. James Hansen, high civil servant, recipient of cash awards from left-wing foundations, and director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Hansen was arrested in front of the White House, dressed up to look like J. Robert Oppenheimer, the 1950s scientific martyr. Hansen wants CEOs of energy companies to be prosecuted for "crimes against humanity."

When scientists are fanatical believers in a cause, the authority and credibility that attach to science are turned into political capital to be spent in pursuit of that cause.

The late Stephen Schneider, Stanford climate scientist, explained how this works:
To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and little mention of any doubts one might have. Each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective, and being honest.
Global warming catastrophism is convenient for climate science. It is simplistic to claim that climate scientists are making up the global warming scare in order to promote research funding. But global warming catastrophism clearly does promote research funding. So there is a convenient congruence between catastrophism and the bureaucratic ambitions of research establishments.

Reid: Growing Government is more important than Private Sector Job Growth

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Statism has many different names, and though the claim is that each varies in degree of size of government, they really hold the same set of goals. . . collectivism over individuality, government dependence over personal responsibility, entitlements over achievement, government over the private sector. So, be it liberalism, progressivism, socialism, fascism, communism, or utopianism, they are all the same in the long run - putting faith in government before the people. And they have all failed whenever they have been tried.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), as a part of the American liberal left, has bought into the lies of big government as has any of the other members of the democrat party. Reid has so bought into the lie of government over liberty that he recently stated that Congress needs to worry more about government jobs more than private-sector jobs, and that this is why Senate Democrats are pushing a bill aimed at shoring up teachers and first-responders.

Economic growth does not come from government jobs. Production does not come from government jobs. Achievement and job creation does not come from government jobs. Besides, his reference to shoring up teachers and first-responders is not only unconstitutional because that is the responsibility of local governments, but also the plan by the federal government would fund teachers and first-responders for only one year - leaving the cities with the bill, and those people that got hired because of the federal funding hung out to dry, "after" the election.

In other words, the provision is not about funding teachers and first-responders. It is all about the election.

But think about it. Reid says that the public sector jobs are more important than private sector jobs. That is his priority. Because he is big government. Obama is big government. They all are.

They could care less about the economy, just as long as the government grows more, and gains more control over the people. . . and of course buys votes. They search for more power, regardless of whether or not their policies are ushering in the destruction of the American economy.

Thomas Jefferson: The Object of the Declaration of Independence

"This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles, or new arguments, never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before; but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take. Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Henry Lee, 1825

Church Criticized for Banning Cross-Gender Costumes

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Like most churches, a Mormon church in Utah will have a special Halloween event so that the kids can still participate in Halloween without the scary and morbid atmosphere out on the streets, and without the dangers that comes with accepting candy from strangers. In the flier for the event, the church included that no ‘cross gender’ costumes were allowed.

Criticisms from the community have arisen, and one mother told the local news channel the event sends the wrong message to the children.

"It has everything to do with not loving your fellow man because they choose to dress a specific way," the local mother, who is not a Mormon, told the station.

So recognizing behavior that you do not approve of on a personal level is not loving your fellow man?

Shouldn't a church be able to set up rules for such events as they wish? Should a community be allowed to force a church to go against its beliefs?

The secularists of the television channel spoke to a psychologist who said that cross-gender costumes on Halloween generally do not lead to gender confusion - as if a psychologist is the best person to ask. . . look at what their theories have done to our school system.

Okay, fine, I get it. Sometimes, a cross-gender costume can be fun. Heck, one Halloween many many years ago, for kicks, I dressed up as a pregnant biker nun, complete with a lit stogie, and spiked leather gloves. I am not here to argue over ticky-tack elements of the issue, but if a church feels that based on the morals they hold dear that children should not dress up in cross-gender costumes, shouldn't that church be able to make that request? If you don't like it, don't go to the event.

As a Christian, I love everybody, but that doesn't mean I have to accept everything too. In fact, isn't a part of true love being willing to point out unacceptable behavior? Isn't real love also tough love? Or is love only what is acceptable to the secularists?

U.S. Government Sweat Shop

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The federal government has a program that on the surface is heaven for college students from around the globe. The program selects college students from across the globe to come work at beach resorts, amusement parks and other seasonal jobs. The idea is for the visitors to experience American culture, practice their English and take home fond memories.

The program, however, is not what it seems.

Some students have been complaining that the work conditions were closer to a sweatshop than a summer break.

At one of the "jobs" over 300 young visitors who were packing candy in a warehouse in Pennsylvania, staged a high-profile walkout and protest against their employers and the State Department, which oversees the program. They alleged that they had been worked to exhaustion and had met few Americans except supervisors who pressed them to pack faster and threatened to have them deported.

State Department officials have promised to investigate the alleged abuses and review the program.

Labor activists assert that the alleged abuses are far more typical than officials acknowledge.

Perhaps more evidence of the failures of a corrupt federal government.

The Duped Generation

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Radicalized progressives have marched on Wall Street. They know that they are angry, and they want to change the system, but they don't know what they will do once their protest reaches beyond the simplicity of marches and sleeping in tents. They only do this because they know they are angry, and things must change. They understand little beyond that because the programming has not gotten that far, yet.

Today's hard left version of the hippie, just like their predecessors, were programmed to act this way. We let it happen. Nikita Khrushchev knew it would happen. He once remarked, "The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag. . . The American People will hoist it themselves."

This belief in big government suggests that the federal government knows best, and should be trusted with regulatory powers over pretty much anything you can think of. Globalists and communists alike share in this belief. Well known statist Zbigniew Brzezinski once said, "I think we accept the idea of a vast expansion in social regulation. It may take such forms as legislation for the number of children, perhaps even legislation determining the sex of children, once we have choice, the regulation of weather, the regulation of leisure, and so forth."[1]

To achieve their vision of a new world, the old world must be destroyed. Statism cannot coexist with liberty, and an all-powerful government cannot coexist with religion, morals, or individualism. The problem is that the existing population is aware of the existence of God, remembers the days of liberty, have moral fiber, and consider themselves individuals. Therefore, the existing generation is beyond reach. However, the children can be molded, taught the new way, the communal way, the way of statist utopianism.

The reeducation of America began when the progressive era marched into America. As early as the late 1800s, progressives were launching their strategies for the reshaping of the American Culture. Socialism began its invasion within, masquerading the creeping incremental changes as spontaneous historical events that happened on accident. The design was shielded by an explanation of chaos. The conspiracy was wrapped up in a veil of an unfortunate series of events.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a progressive himself, once revealed the truth. "In politics," he said, "Nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way." [2]

We live in a new world, we are told. It is a global economy, now, and we must adjust with it. That adjustment, according to the liberal progressives, means to let go of our sovereignty and give in to the statist goals of the international community. Communism by a new name. Fascism with a new face. Slavery in the name of progress.

Historian Arnold Toynbee, a subscriber to the rise of a new utopian global society, remarked, "We are approaching the point at which the only effective scale for operations of any importance will be the global scale. The local states ought to be deprived of their sovereignty and subordinated to the sovereignty of a global world government. I think the world state will still need an armed police and the world government will have to command sufficient force to be able to impose peace."

Peace by force?

Dr. Brock Chisolm, The First Director of the World Health Organization from 1948 to 1953, is on record as saying, "To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family tradition, national patriotism, and religious dogmas. . . The reinterpretation and eventual eradication of the concept of right and wrong which has been the basis of child training, the substitution of intelligent and rational thinking for faith in the certainties of the old people, these are the belated objectives. . . for charting the changes in human behavior. In addition to destroying man's basic loyalties to family, nation and religion, the nation must be conditioned to the belief that less is better than more. The standard of living of those in the affluent nations must be reduced. This will be done by a slow, gradual process of conditioning the citizens of the rich nations to survive on less than they produce." [3]

The policies of these Marxists has been adopted by the American liberal, and through the agenda of the democrat party, the programming of The West has been instituted in the educational system. We have been told that education is aimed at teaching children reading, writing, and arithmetic, and long ago that was truly the goal of education. Those seeking to change the fabric of the American system, however, believe that education has a more important function.

Today's students, after years of public education, score among the lowest in the world. Graduates are unable to properly read and write. That is because the basics of education are not the goal, and therefore those skills are not properly taught. The students are not expected to learn to read, write, and perform arithmetic. The school system has instead gradually evolved into a means of introducing the children to statist philosophies that include Secular Humanism, pluralism, and socialism/communism.

John Dewey, the so-called father of Progressive Education, believed that "There is no God and no soul. Hence, there are no needs for the props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded then immutable truth is also dead and buried. There is no room for fixed, natural law or permanent absolutes." [4]

The road to an America operating on the concept of collectivism, and to accept a socialist national philosophy necessary for the nation to be willing to join a global order, reasoned the statist, must be achieved by destroying the old system that is anchored in the Constitution, the Christian faith, and a system of morals. Therefore, the Constitution, Christianity, and any system of morals anchored in Biblical teachings, must be eradicated.

This philosophy that has taken hold of the American liberal left is consistent with the teachings of communism. Vladimir Lenin said, "We must combat religion. Down with religion. Long live atheism. The spread of atheism is our chief task. Communism abolishes eternal truths. It abolishes all religion and morality." [5]

The progressives aim to teach the children that there is no right and wrong. The children are special, can do no wrong, and can be anything they want to be when they grow up if they just want it bad enough. There are no winners and losers, so in games it is wrong to keep score. After all, we don't want to injure a child's precious self-esteem. The government, to protect the children from the sting of failure, criticism, or harsh circumstances will provide equality in the results they encounter through programs, entitlements, and regulations. All the federal government asks for in return is the student's undying loyalty to the federal government, and the political ideology that provides these things.

The schools teach that there are no values through programs like sex education. The student is taught that whatever he desires or pleasures is proper to take. Madlyn Murray O'Hair got the Supreme Court to remove prayer from school as the religion of secular humanism oozed its way into the curriculum in totality. A teacher cannot mention Creationism for fear of being removed from the system, but is required to teach the theory of evolution regardless of the teacher's beliefs, or the preferences of the parents. A child cannot receive an aspirin without parental approval, but the system is urged to provide the children with contraception or abortions without the knowledge of the parents. In California, the FAIR Act beginning in 2012, will require teachers to teach students the history of the homosexual movement, along with issues such as same-sex marriage that are dear to the hearts of the homosexual lobby, receive favorable treatment in social studies textbooks, instructional materials, and classroom curricula. In short, the education system, under the guiding eye of progressivism, is changing the knowledge of the past by revising it, or striking the truth from the curriculum.

"Give us one generation of small children to train to manhood and womanhood and we will set up the Bolshevist form of the Soviet Government." - American Communist Party slogan, 1919. [6]

In Germany, Hitler outlawed home schooling (a law that is still on the books today in Germany), and used education to further the NAZI philosophy. In a speech delivered in 1939, Hitler proclaimed, "When an opponent declares: 'I will not come over to your side,' I calmly say, 'Your child belongs to us already. What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community." [7]

The American communists agreed, as well. The Tenth Plank of the Communist Manifesto is "Free Education For All."

William Z. Foster, the National Chairman of the Communist Party U.S.A. in 1932, wrote a book entitled "Toward a Soviet America." In the book he wrote: "Among the elementary measures the American Soviet government will adopt to further the cultural revolution are the following: the schools, colleges, universities will be coordinated and grouped under a National Department of Education and its state and local branches. The studies will be revolutionalized, being cleansed of religious, patriotic and other features of bourgeois ideology." [8]

Big Government understands that it can control the education of the young very easily, because nobody can argue against a good education. Once they have the younger generation in their education system, they can then mold those minds to adopt the statist economic and social agenda. Once that generation has been programmed to believe the same thing as the progressive socialists, there will be no opposition to The State.

Today's liberal progressives work to force conformity in the education system by labeling the children with a variety of ailments (ADD, ADHD, etc.) that are behaviors that actually run in line with children simply being children, and then blaming the individualism of the student on poor diet and unbalanced chemicals in their brains. The establishment dictates to the parents how the children should be fed, and a massive amount of the children have been drugged to ensure they fall into the compliance dictated by the education system. Through these techniques, combined with the utopian curriculum, the schools are molding the character of the children to conform with their standards. The students are being taught that their parents are incompetent, but they will be happy in the long run because the government will tell them that it is so. The student is being told their individualism is a disease, or a learning disability, but through drugs or proper psychological sessions, they will learn to properly conform to the standards set forth by the progressive education system.

If the parents dare to oppose what the schools are doing, the government will then deem those parents negligent, or abusive, and remove the children from the home.

In the fall of 1970, six children were removed from their parents and placed in a foster home because the parents refused to send them to a public school teaching "sex education" in conflict with their religious beliefs. [9]

In 1972, a father lost his daughter when he refused to allow her to be bussed into what he perceived was a high crime area. The judge fined the father. [10]

In August of 1981, a pastor's children were forced to go back to the school he had taken them out of because he felt the school was exposing his children to homosexuality and drugs in violation of his religious beliefs. [11]

In 2008, a California judge ordered the children of parents Phillip and Mary Long in Los Angeles to attend public schools, rather than be homeschooled, despite the parent's opposition to the anti-Christian influences in California's public schools. [12]

In 2009, a New Hampshire child, age 10, was ordered into government-run public school for having "sincerely held" religious beliefs. The case arose out of a disagreement between the parents regarding the child's schooling. The court order stated: "According to the guardian ad litem's further report and testimony, the counselor found Amanda to lack some youthful characteristics. She appeared to reflect her mother's rigidity on questions of faith." The guardian also noted that Amanda's relationship with her father suffered because she did not think he loved her as much as he said he did due to the fact that he refused to "adopt her religious beliefs." In other words, the mother's homeschooling was unacceptable because it was "too religious."

According to the court order, the guardian concluded that Amanda's "interests, and particularly her intellectual and emotional development, would be best served by exposure to a public school setting in which she would be challenged to solve problems presented by a group learning situation and...Amanda would be best served by exposure to different points of view at a time in her life when she must begin to critically evaluate multiple systems of belief and behavior." [13]

Last Spring, Mississippi state judge issued an order to public school attendance officers in his judicial district to provide the names of all homeschoolers there. Though no reason was given, the assumption was for the same reason the government wants to know the names of all gun owners - for the purpose of later confiscation or court orders. [14]

German White, once an official with the U.S. Office of Child Development, said while he held that position, "Parents don't mean to be incompetent but they are, and the remedy is federal establishment of acceptable standards of child raising." [15]

Earlier this year, Sarah Knopp, a Los Angeles teachers union leader and Megan Behrent a New York City teacher affiliated with the International Socialist Organization, were caught on video explaining how to push Marxism in the public school classroom. [16]

The teachers were trained to teach Marxism, and the students have been programmed to fight for it.

The Occupy Protesters are the result of the long campaign by liberal progressivism to create a generation programmed to seek change, to demand progressivism/Marxism, and to be willing to fight the communist revolution. They were told they were special, that all things are equal, and that if they just do what the government tells them they will be fine and their precious little feelings won't be hurt. But now these kids have grown up, and what they want has not fallen into their laps. In fact, they are realizing that they are not only not "special," but that the real world is harsh and they were not properly equipped to handle it. They don't know how to cope with defeat, don't know how to rise to the challenge, they are easily offended, and they have been left behind by those that are the achievers. Government hasn't even come through for them like they expected. So, out of their anger, they lash out at who they were programmed to hate: Wall Street, Corporations, the Wealthy, the Bourgeois.

This generation has been duped to believe that Marxism is their freedom, so they cry out for bigger government, for the fall of capitalism, and stand ready to applaud the new liberal progressive order of the future.

As Queen Amidala said in Star Wars, Episode III: "So, this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause." [17]

Success By Failure – The Way Forward For President Obama

By J.J. Jackson

Last week President Obama proclaimed a successful conclusion to U.S. involvement in Iraq with troops scheduled to be home by the end of the year. The President and his surrogates have not been shy about reminding everyone who will listen these days, which are not people many by the look of things, that this fulfills his ardent campaign promise to do so. Of course the fact that this “success” only came about because his Administration failed to negotiate an extension, which they wanted, of said troops to remain in Iraq is not all that important to him.

But wait, maybe this is a good thing. Success by failure could be a stunning, well, success if only President Obama were to implement it on a larger scale throughout his policy initiatives. Think about it for a moment.

President Obama wants to raise taxes on the producers. Yet his failure to do so would successfully keep more money in the hands of those who know what purpose it would serve best rather than confiscating it to be used by government to fund boondoggles like Solyndra.

President Obama is currently keeping the regulatory agencies under his control from speedily approving drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico. Yet if he were to fail at this, and permits were more quickly approved, new sources of energy could be tapped sooner and successfully help wean America off of foreign oil.

President Obama wants the Supreme Court to uphold his signature achievement; Obamacare. Yet should his Justice Department fail, millions upon millions of Americans would succeed in being freed from the oppressive yoke of a national heath care system that would invariably lead to rationing. Something, mind you, now happening under that other great example of socialized government medicine called Medicare in case you had not heard. States are now limiting the number of days those on the program can stay in the hospital [1].

President Obama wants the Occupy Wall Street crowd to succeed in bringing down the United States banking and investment firms. But if this assortment of self-professed communists, socialists, NAZIs [2] and racists fail, those of us who have scrimped, sacrificed, and saved will be able to succeed at bettering our financial well being so that we will not need the incompetent Nanny State to take care of us.

President Obama wants to keep spending hundreds upon hundred of billions of dollars more than America collects in taxes every year. Yet his failure to do just that would quickly succeed in putting America back on solid financial footing.

President Obama wants to maintain the status quo and continue to give people things they have not worked to obtain. Yet his failure would mean the looters would have to quickly become producers or suffer a horrible fate. This would propel America forward towards success as human ingenuity is invariably unleashed as millions of looters do not want to suffer said horrible fate stop being looters.

And lastly President Obama wants to win a second term in the White House. Yet his failure to do so would give America a chance to succeed without a man at the helm who has absolutely no idea what he is doing.

I think that all Americans who love their country should embrace this plan and pressure President Obama to adopt it with all due haste.

Democrats: Big Government Over All!

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The United States Constitution was written in a manner specifically designed to limit the size and scope of the federal government. All government power, prior to the writing of the Constitution, was held by the States. The new country needed a central government to protect the union of sovereign states, yet the new federal government needed to be limited so that it would not become a tyranny that sought to destroy the autonomy of the individual states. From the very beginning there were those that disagreed with the concept of a limited central government, and worked to usurp the Constitution so that the federal government may have full authority over everything.

That battle not only still rages today, but the liberal democrats, and establishment republicans, have positioned themselves to give the federal government all authority, not only over the States, but over the private sector, and even the individual decisions of the citizens.

The Obama administration has become one of continuous executive orders, and a growing hostility against the other branches of government whenever those branches don't "play ball."

During his State of the Union Speech in 2010, Obama went after the Supreme Court, publicly criticizing them for their Citizens United ruling, which recognized the free speech of corporate entities during the campaign season, and opens the opportunity for candidates to increase campaign contributions from the business sector.

Justice Alito caught Obama in a lie during that speech, and mouthed the words "not true," which then set up a larger media firestorm.

Obama's decision to rebuke the Supreme Court Justices in such a way drags the high court into politics, when they have sworn to be apolitical (as if they truly follow that. . .), and also sent the message that Obama does not want The Court to rule in a manner consistent with the law, but in a manner consistent with how he wants them to rule - in other words, "rule in accordance to my statist opinions, or be rebuked for daring to differ."

Barack Obama has decided that the Congress does not need to be involved in any processes either, commenting after his "Jobs Bill" was rejected by the Senate that he would pass the pieces administratively through the regulatory agencies, instead. He has decided to first test the waters with each piece of the bill by submitting the pieces to Congress, but they are rejecting each piece individually, which is setting up the opportunity for him to implement those provisions through the regulatory agencies.

Obama's response for the Congress to dare reject his political will? Obama has determined that Congress is stupid, and unable to comprehend the complexities of his legislation. His Vice President, good ol' Joe Biden, went on to say that rejection of the Jobs Bill will result in more rapes and murders across the country - an absurd statement that even the media found themselves appalled by.

When one looks through the proposals themselves, you realize how sinister they truly are, slowly giving the federal government more and more authorities that they have no constitutional right to, while also setting up the election by giving the president a list of legislative rejections he can blame on his opposition, and in turn giving him the opportunity to twist language for his benefit. The republicans have rejected, according to The Left, clean water, clean air, public safety, access to education, access to health care, and so on and so forth.

In the first piece of his Jobs Bill that was pushed on Congress, the provision demanded a years worth of federal funding to police, fire and teachers. Clearly, a local function, this funding would be a greater step in the direction of the federal government dictating to local governments what they can and can't do with their own local law enforcement and fire services. The proposal was only for a year, which means the money would stop flowing to the localities soon after the election, and then when the cities and states were unable to maintain the level of funding the federal government provided, they would be faced with either laying off those personnel hired as a result of that funding, or asking the federal government for more money.

More money from the federal government equals more control by the federal government.

When it came to his great student loan giveaway, Obama again announced that Congress could not be trusted, so he had to just implement the plan himself. And he did - with an executive order (an unconstitutional use of that power, might I add - only Congress is given the authority to legislate in any manner - Article I, Section 1).

As a big government statist, Obama truly believes that the federal government creates jobs, creates innovation, and creates great minds. Therefore, the education system needs more money so that it can program more kids to follow the liberal madness.

Obama says he's helping to ease the burden of student loan debt, when in reality it does nothing of the sort. It is just a move to make him "look like" he is doing so.

Nobody ever challenges the public universities on why they have increased the cost of education (you know, like they challenge corporations?) - they won't challenge an ally in that way.

This is nothing new. In May of 1973, Dr. Medford Evans wrote: ". . . government schools make it a matter of policy to spend as much money as possible, and impart as little knowledge as possible since spending demonstrates power while keeping the scholars ignorant monopolizes power in the hands of the government insiders."

Now Obama is taking aim on meddling in the mortgage industry. . . to get it to do the same kind of stuff that got us in this mess in the first place. And he is doing it without Congress.

Michelle Obama wants government to tell you what you can and can't eat (Hey, Michelle, I have an idea: How about you mind your own damn business what I eat), the federal government wants to tell you how to raise your kids, give you free diapers if you allow the government access to your child before Kindergarten, Harry Reid says government jobs should take a priority over private sector jobs (in a bid to eventually federalize all jobs, I am sure), and Jesse Jackson is suggesting that the federal government should hire all of the unemployed at $40,000.

It won't be long before the federal government controls everything, the dollar collapses and everyone is dependent upon the government. And then they will come for our guns - If we fail to stop this.

They don't care how much money it takes, just as long as the federal government controls everything. And if the federal government controls everything, they can dictate to you all of your choices. That is a loss of liberty.

And as for them dictating everything? Don't forget, dictate is the root word of dictator.

Obama's FDR Mistake With Taxes

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In 1933, in order to generate more revenue, Franklin Delano Roosevelt initiated a policy of withholding from "all" wages and salaries, not just the highest incomes enjoyed by the rich as the "soak the rich" policy of the income tax had been prior. Rather than the rich paying the tax at the end of the year, the tax was collected at the payroll window before it was even due to be paid by the taxpayer. This style of collection shifted the tax from its original design as a tax on the wealthy to a tax on the masses, mostly on the middle class, though it also greatly increased the taxes on the rich as well. The result of this increase in taxation on the achievers, and the masses alike, was devastating. The higher taxes, and the "soak the rich" strategy, coupled with the growing regimen of federal spending, worsened the Great Depression, and lengthened it for another seven years.

Obama has decided to use the same strategy.

“There is surging sentiment out there among voters that the economy is weighted towards the wealthy,” said a senior White House official. “Public opinion has changed dramatically.”

The democrats claim the wealthiest do not pay their fair share, yet the after-tax income of the wealthiest one per cent of U.S. households increased by 275 per cent over the past three decades, compared to an average of 62 per cent for all Americans, the independent Congressional Budget Office reported this week. For the poorest 20 per cent, the growth was only 18 per cent.

Taking cues from the Occupy Wall Street protesters, and Roosevelt's war against the achievers of society, the Obama administration has claimed that he is fighting for the common man against the wealthy enemy.

I have heard that battle cry before. . . from the anti-capitalist ravings of the Soviet Union.

Cold Weather Bears Down on Northeast, Occupy Protesters to Dig In

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As the end of October approaches, so does an early winter storm. The American East Coast is expecting a snowstorm that is the earliest snowstorm since the Civil War.

This nor'easter has already been dropping snow on Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York. This storm is expected to hammer Virginia and West Virginia with the heaviest snow, while also dropping a significant amount of the white stuff on eastern Pennsylvania and southeastern New York state, northwestern New Jersey, northern Connecticut, Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

In New England, where six inches of snow has already fallen, there is also expected to be powerful winds.

This storm has already dumped snow across the United States, hitting Colorado with cold and snowy weather that wound up putting some Occupy protesters in the hospital with hypothermia.

The Occupy protesters plan to weather the winter storms. They call it their Valley Forge. I call it a feeble attempt at a Marxist Revolution.

The free-loading duped generation are stockpiling donated coats, blankets and scarves, while trying to secure cots and military-grade tents. They are asking the homeless people for survival tips - you know, those same people the "spread the wealth around" occupy protesters refused to share their food with.

The expectation is that as the temperature drops, the number of demonstrators is likely to drop.

There has been some suggestions to move indoors, such as to foreclosed homes. Never mind the law. These people don't care if they trespass. Some of the occupiers suggest that moving indoors is not a good idea - what good is a protest if it is outside the public eye?

Then again, do these people really remain on site?

A number of reports indicate that some New York City Occupy protesters have been leaving their tents at night and fleeing to a local hotel, or local homes of friends and acquaintances, for better accommodations. There’s evidence of something similar going on in London.

In London, thermal imaging pictures show that the tents at the Occupy camp near St. Paul’s Cathedral are nearly empty at night.

They want you to believe they have convictions, but it is a big charade.

For those that do decide to brave the foul weather, campfires will likely not be an option, considering municipal safety regulations. In New York, authorities on Friday hauled away gasoline cans and six generators being used for the kitchen, emergency lights and media equipment. Mayor Michael Bloomberg called them a safety hazard.

Some activists have used a Quaker community center where they can shower and thaw out in common rooms.

They say they plan to stand firm - when they aren't fighting among themselves.

Once upon a time there were activists in America who wanted to change the United States into something it was never meant to be. . .

"The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag. . . The American People will hoist it themselves." - Nikita Khrushchev, November 16, 1956.

These people are no more than tools, acting out in the manner they were programmed to.

Peru Hammered by Major Earthquake

By Douglas V. Gibbs

An earthquake originally believed to be a 6.9 magnitude, now estimated to have been a 6.7, has rocked the country of Peru. This is the same region that was hit by a major earthquake in 2007, which left 596 people dead. This one, so far, does not seem to have been as devastating. There has been no damage reported, though at least twenty people have been reported injured.

Several aftershocks have followed with magnitudes up to 5.5.

Though not as intense as the 2007 quake, this earthquake achieved a greater radius.

Ohio Democrat Sues Over Election Loss

By Douglas V. Gibbs

File this one under "You've Got To Be Kidding Me."

A liberal democrat from Ohio, Steve Driehaus, is suing the people who defeated him in his reelection bid to Congress. His claim of damages is that he is suffering because of his "loss of livelihood."

The lawsuit is against the Susan B. Anthony List, a prolife group who backs prolife candidates for Congress. So, since Driehaus lost a congressional race, he is suing.

What is truly amazing is that the case was allowed to go forward, based on the opinion of U.S. District Court judge Timothy S. Black, an Obama appointee.

And if Driehaus wins his case?

Do democrats now think they are entitled to their congressional seats?

Insane.

Raising Cain - The rise of Herman Cain Through Marketing Genius

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I've been a fan of Herman Cain since the first time I heard him on the radio as a guest host on a conservative talk show. I never dreamed, however, that he would make a run for president.

As the 2012 presidential campaign began, and the GOP field began to take shape, even though Herman Cain was a part of the field, I considered him as nothing more than a bookend. Early on, I liked Pawlenty, but he bowed out pretty quick. I've liked Michelle Bachmann from the beginning, because she is the most conservative of the candidates. Also, as a member of Congress that has been fighting against Obama's destructive policies, she understands the intricacies of his policies, and how best to dismantle them.

Rick Santorum has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I liked him when he was a Senator. But I knew from the beginning that Santorum's chances were probably nil, and none.

I felt the same way about Herman Cain, too. My buddy Loki kept singing Cain's praises, but I always responded, "Yeah, whatever. I like him, but he has no chance."

I was mistaken.

Herman Cain is an achiever. He has done well at everything he has done. He knows how to succeed, and he knows how to market. I may not be 100% on board with his 999 plan, but it is a step in the right direction.

In a recent Fox News poll, Herman Cain has passed liberal Mitt Romney, as the leader of the pack.

A great example of Cain's marketing skills is his television ad where, in line with the idea that Herman just needs to be Herman, Cain's Chief of Staff Mark Block is just being Mark in the ad . . . and it turns out he is a smoker.

The liberal media has gone nuts over this. Big Tobacco is the enemy of the liberal left. They have all kinds of campaigns against smoking. They are trying to use big government to dictate to you where you can smoke, including banning people from smoking in their own homes.

I have always found it fascinating that the same liberals that want to ban cigarettes tend to also support the legalization of Marijuana.

The thing is, the Left is all up in arms about that smoking ad.

Conservatives could care less. Smoking is an individual decision, and the hysteria about second hand smoke is mostly a lie anyway. Who cares if Mark Block is smoking in the ad?

The leftists, however, are complaining about it, and condemning it, and making a big ruckus about the ad.

And in the end, as planned, they are talking about Herman Cain.

That's one way to get people talking about you.

Marketing genius.

Poll Tax is a Head Tax, or Capitation. . . Student then explains decapitation

By Douglas V. Gibbs

During last night's Constitution Class in Temecula we were discussing the 24th Amendment. The amendment disallows poll taxes, which had been employed in an effort to keep blacks from being able to vote in The South. I explained that poll taxes had already been prohibited at the federal level by Article I, Section 9. "A poll tax," I explained, "is a head tax, or capitation."

A couple of the attendees laughed at that last word and wondered allowed if it was related to "decapitation."

A gentleman in the back said allowed, "Decapitation? That's the income tax."

Math of Obama's Popularity Doesn't Add Up

By Douglas V. Gibbs

76% Dissatisfied with Direction of Country

Only 16% say America heading in the right direction

Americans' satisfaction with the way things are going in the United States remains low at 13% in October, similar to the 11% last month and still among the lowest on record.

So tell me. How is it that Obama's approval rating remains above 40%?

Media manipulation? Lies? Propaganda? It's gotta be something, because the numbers just don't add up.

If they were telling the truth, and if they weren't taking the polls in the population centers where through entitlements the votes have been purchased by the democrats, I am willing to bet Obama's approval rating is way below 20%.

The popularity of the Tea Party, and Sarah Palin, is a pretty big clue of what the mood of the country is.

Little Boy Lives as Girl, Joins Girl Scouts

By Douglas V. Gibbs

What is wrong with us?

How far will this perversion of the sexes go on?

In Colorado a 7 year old boy whose parents have really screwed this kid up, letting him live life as a girl, has joined the Girl Scouts.

True identity doesn't matter to these people. If he acts like a girl, he gets to hang out with the girls, be a girl, and maybe someday mommy and daddy will let him mutilate his genitals too.

“We do not require proof of gender when a family wants their daughter to be a member of Girl Scouts,” said a representative of the organization.

"Boys who are living like boys will not be admitted."

"Girl Scouts is an inclusive organization and we accept all girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade as members. If a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout. Our requests for support of transgender kids have grown, and Girl Scouts of Colorado is working to best support these children, their families and the volunteers who serve them. In this case, an associate delivering our program was not aware of our approach. She contacted her supervisor, who immediately began working with the family to get the child involved and supported in Girl Scouts. We are accelerating our support systems and training so that we're better able to serve all girls, families and volunteers."

They are treating this like it is a racial identity or something. This is pretty sick. I am saddened that our society is in this downward spiral. Pretty soon pedophiles will be demanding "equal rights" too.

This is all way beyond insanity.

Temecula Constitution Study: 24th Amendment, Poll Taxes, and Open Primaries

Tonight at 6:00 pm at Faith Armory in Temecula we will be discussing:

Amendment 24: Poll Taxes and Open Primaries

The 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution ratified in 1964 that made it illegal for a state to use payment to all taxes as a requirement to vote in national elections. Few blacks could vote because they had a little money. The poll tax to vote was $1.50. A woman decided to take the poll tax issue to court. In October 1965, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Evelyn T. Butts' appeal. In 1966 the Supreme Court of the United States declared Poll Taxes unconstitutional.

A poll tax is a uniformed tax levied on every adult in the community. Poll taxes have their roots in ancient tax systems and have been criticized as an unfair burden on the poor. Historically, in the U.S., they were enacted in the South as a prerequisite for voting disfranchising many African Americans and poor whites.

A number of States have been passing laws enabling their States to make their election primaries open to all voters. In other words, you can vote for anyone you want regardless of party during the primary. These are called “Open Primaries.” Some proponents of the Open Primaries contend that Closed Primaries are unconstitutional - a violation of the 24th Amendment.

Though I am not a big fan of a "party system," I realize it is a natural result of human nature. We tend to attract to those that think like ourselves, and parties ultimately form. But to allow voters to cross party-lines in the primaries is dangerous, and nullifies the whole point of the primaries.

I understand that not all States have primaries, and the rules for choosing candidates for a particular party varies from state to state - as it should. States are given the authority to make their own election rules, and maintain the elections in their state, according to Article I, Section 4 of the United States Constitution. This is why the Florida-Chad controversy should have never resulted in the federal courts getting involved. The decision on what to do should have remained at the State level.

Open primaries allow members of opposing parties to vote in their opponent's primary in the hopes of affecting the outcome, and putting the weaker candidate on the ballot so that their own party has a better chance to win. If both parties of a two party system is doing such, the result will always be the two weakest candidates facing off against each other. How is that a good thing?

However, as previously stated, there is a number of supporters of Open Primaries who contend that Closed Primaries are in violation of the 24th Amendment because limiting who can vote in a primary by party membership is a poll tax as per implied law.

Poll Tax: NOUN: A tax levied on people rather than on property, often as a requirement for voting.

A poll tax is a uniformed tax levied on the voters in the community in an effort to discourage or disfranchise voters of the lower income levels. In the United States poll taxes were used in the South as a prerequisite for voting to stop the vote of blacks and poor whites. Few blacks could vote because they had a little money. The poll tax to vote was $1.50.

The poll tax issue wound up in court. In October of 1965, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Evelyn T. Butts' appeal. In 1966 the Supreme Court of the United States declared Poll Taxes unconstitutional. Their decision was based on the 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution ratified in 1964 that made it illegal for a State to use taxes as a requirement to vote in the national elections.

A poll tax is a poll tax, however, and is not being applied in today's primary. One may suggest that the 24th Amendment "implies" that no action can be taken to close any election to any person - but primaries are simply party oriented, and the people who couldn't vote in the primary will be able to in the general election.

Simply put, the law specifically indicates poll taxes, and poll taxes are not in play here. Therefore, closed primaries are not unconstitutional.

Unfortunately, neither are open primaries.

Obama's Executive Order for Student Loans Bypasses Congress Again

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Now, Obama wants to say that the republicans are against you getting an education, and because of those horrible right-wingers, he was forced to take it upon himself to make sure America's chance to be educated was saved.

"Can't wait for Congress to do its job, so I will."

Time for the great student loan giveaway. Obama thinks the federal government creates jobs, creates innovation, and creates great minds.

Our education system sucks because it isn't about learning. The system is designed to program minds to follow the liberal madness.

But, hey, the liberal left nutcases like Obama have somehow convinced everyone that not only must you have an education to survive in this world, but it has to be from a liberal left college - and if you can't afford your own education, they will find a way to give it to you. . . or at least make it easier to get loans, and pay them back in time, or get out of paying them if you dawdle long enough.

Obama says he's helping to ease the burden of student loan debt. Numbers have been thrown around showing how expensive it is, and these poor souls can't seem to get their indoctrination in an affordable manner.

No need to fear, Under-Obama is here! (using his executive orders in an unconstitutional manner)

Average in-state tuition and fees at four-year public colleges have gone up drastically. Never mind the cost of going to private colleges. And with the large increase in federal grants and tax credits for students, on top of stimulus dollars that prevented greater state cuts, or so we are told, it still isn't enough.

They tell you that these tuitions are up because the evil States are slashing their budgets again.

Has anyone considered that it might be due to colleges raising their tuition costs? And why are colleges raising their fees? Why is the liberal institutions of education overcharging?

While Obama is taking it upon himself with an executive order to basically forgive student loans after 20 years, without any involvement by Congress, which means all the free loaders of society have to do is pay a little here, a little there, over twenty years, and then forget the loan. These nuts never really have to pay it off, and the taxpayers will pick up the tab. Maybe you can make it look like you really tried to pay off your loan and then after 20 years, they forgive it.

Not that the degree really matters. Save for two, everyone I know that has degrees makes less for a living than I do, and I only took a few classes, maybe 30 units worth, before a busy life made it impossible to continue. And those folks don't even have jobs that have anything to do with their precious degree. They work at retail stores, and insurance offices, and phone banks, fast food joints.

But back to why education is so expensive, it isn't those big bad universities gouging prices like you are being told. It's the government's involvement of the whole thing. It's all of the free stuff being handed out. Its the failing budgets that use a liberal model.

And now Obama wants to put a bigger strain on it by forgiving loans earlier than before.

My wife, by the way, paid hers off, like a responsible American. Obama, with his new student loan forgiveness order, is encouraging irresponsibility.

Bay Area Occupy Groups Searching For Their Own Kent State Scenario

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Clashes with riot police in Oakland, and now San Francisco, reveals to us that the Marxists of the Occupy Protest madness is ready to take their little game to the next communist level. Their next phase is to increase civil disobedience. The hope of the freaks that are stinking up the streets with their free loading filth is to create the illusion of a police state, to bring violence into the equation. Then, they can appeal to the federal government to get involved, to crack down on those mean ol' local authorities, and create an excuse for Obama to declare martial law.

They want violence, they want blood in the streets, they want Kent State. They want revolution, and to change our system into a socialist system where the government takes care of everybody in a Statist Nightmare.

The next few weeks will get rough.

As for Obama, he, and his cronies are knee deep in the Occupy movement, waiting for their opportunity to insert the federal government into the whole situation. In fact, Obama's ACORN army is highly involved in the whole mess.

This whole Occupy garbage is a part of a master plan to create unrest and chaos, general frustration, and to dispirit people who dare oppose his excellency, President Barry Hussein Obama.

And when the violence goes crazy, the media will be right there to blame the achievers of society, those big bad corporations, those mean ol' local authorities, the republicans, and the Tea Party.

Chastity Bono Loses Dance, Plays Victim

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Chastity Bono, the daughter of Sonny and Cher, decided she wanted to be a boy. Then, she accepted the invitation to dance on television, and now that she lost the dance competition, she is crying foul.

Note, I will not call her a "he". Her decision to self mutilate her genitals with the help of surgeons will never change the fact that her DNA will always reveal that she is a female. She can mask her real identity all she wants, but the science of her identity will always be female.

Anyway, like the majority of the freaky people of this line of thinking (from gay to those who choose genital mutilation), when the judges got a little rough on her, she whined and cried and complained that she was being treated unfairly.

Like dad used to say: "Life ain't fair, so deal with it."

Sympathy may be awarded if the judges singled her out. But, the fact is, on these kinds of reality shows where the point of the show is competition, there is always a judge or two that is harsh on the contestants - an entertaining technique made famous by Simon Cowell.

In other words, Chastity was not singled out. The judges are equal opportunity tormentors. People tune in to see that kind of harshness. It's a cruel world, and the judges love to dish it out. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Chastity lost, and in the end, she wants some preferential treatment.

Hey, you lost! Deal with it.

Man, I hate sore losers.

Play the "I'm the poor chick with mutilated genitals" somewhere else. Your crying is not being taken seriously here except by the most extreme of far left liberals.

Jeez.

By the way, Chastity, your reaction is not very manly, which confirms that you are what your DNA says you are. . . a woman. Either suck it up, or quit calling yourself a man.

UPDATE: I have informed that Chastity Bono has not done the genital mutilation. . . yet. Which is even worse. Hormone treatments makes the woman look like a man, and so they treat the freak like a man. In the old days she'd only be able to find employment as the bearded lady at the circus.

S. 91 Life at Conception Act Remains in Committee

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Last March I wrote about Senator Roger Wicker's "Life at Conception Act" (S.91). The bill approaches the abortion debate at a whole new angle, by not attacking Roe v. Wade directly, but by using an end around that draws the 14th Amendment into the equation.

The abortion issue is a State issue. Conservatives and Constitutionalists alike share that view. The federal government has no authority to pass legislation on the issue. Therefore, Roe v. Wade, the court case that is said to have made abortion legal, is unconstitutional. It was an example of the courts legislating, and overturning a State law - both of which the courts have no authority to do.

Liberals will tell you that the constitutionality of something like abortion is decided by case law. Judges, the Left will tell you, has the authority to interpret the Constitution, and take cases regardless of powers granted by the Constitution.

The argument by the Left regarding Judicial Review is wrong.

The battle over abortion has raged on, and Roe v. Wade has been at the center of that debate. The argument by the liberal left is that outlawing abortion takes away the right of a woman to have an abortion. But what about the right of the child to live?

Overturning Roe v. Wade has not worked, and the liberal left refuses to accept that abortion is a State issue. So how can those that support life approach the issue, outlaw abortion without overturning Roe v. Wade, and do it in a constitutional manner?

Justice Blackmun, in his opinion of the Roe v. Wade case, wrote that if ever it was determined when life begins, Roe v. Wade would be history.

Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker's "Life at Conception Act" (S. 91) aims to define human life as beginning at the moment of fertilization. By defining life as beginning at conception, the legislation would prohibit abortion across the country. By determining that life begins in the womb. However, this is not unconstitutional, for it tackles the issue of abortion in a manner that allows the federal government to take it on. If unborn babies of America would be considered to be alive, this would give them full constitutional protections, which would include equal protection under the law as per the 14th Amendment - which would protect them from being treated differently from all other Americans, and all other Americans are protected against being murdered.

Abortion is a State issue because the federal government does not have the power to authorize the killing of the unborn. However, the federal government does have the authority to ensure that all people considered alive are equally treated under the law. Wicker's S. 91 would prohibit abortion, and his bill would accomplish that feat constitutionally.

A reader asked for an update on this bill, and currently it is in committee, and has been sitting there since January. The Senate Committee on the Judiciary has done nothing with the bill, and it is very possible the bill will die in committee.

It is time to contact our Senators and demand that S. 91 be taken seriously, and receive the kind of attention it deserves.

Occupy Oakland Cleared out By Police in Riot Gear

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Marxists of Occupy Oakland were forced to move along by the police. In the radio report I heard one of the protesters scream the police was violating her 1st Amendment Right.

First of all, the First Amendment applies to Congress. It says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Notice the first word, "Congress". In other words, The Federal Government cannot, through legislation, violate the rights listed.

Second of all, with freedom comes responsibility, and being a public nuisance, and calling for the radical change of the American system, is not exactly being responsible.

Besides, the problem isn't the bankers of Wall Street, and the highest earning achievers. The problem is the federal government. Your Obama is in bed with the very people you protest, and the democrat party's policies are geared towards preferential treatment of the bankers and the corporate types, to the point of supplying bail outs for them, or stimulus money. The Occupy Movement is protesting the wrong thing. They should be angry with Washington.
