Idle America

By Douglas V. Gibbs

What's that old saying?

Idle hands are the devil's playthings.

As parents, we have learned that a child that is active, be it in sports, band, academics, with chores, or with a job, is too busy to get into trouble.  Sure, there are exceptions to the rule, but for the most part an occupied kid is a kid out of trouble.

If that is true with children, why wouldn't it be true with adults?

A thriving economy is good for keeping the crime rate down, and moral depravity in check, not because poverty cause crime as the liberal left will tell you, but because idleness does.

The liberal left is pushing for an America dependent on government, be it through their health care program, food stamps, welfare, or other entitlement programs.  Rugged individualism is frowned upon.  In America we have been brought up to believe that you can be anything you want if you just work hard enough, and if you weather the lumps and failures along the way.  President Obama has encouraged the opposite.  Liberalism encourages the opposite.  The Democrat Party says that if you can't achieve, government will be there to take care of you, and enable you to become idle.

No wonder we are experiencing a decaying society, and a lurch toward big government tyranny.  We are idle, and we are being encouraged to be exactly that.  If we are idle, we no longer care, and those that seek power and a position as a part of the ruling elite can do as they please, without fear of repercussion by We The People.

The Founding Fathers were no strangers to this concept.

"The almost general mediocrity of fortune that prevails in America obliging its people to follow some business for subsistence, those vices, that arise usually from idleness, are in a great measure prevented. Industry and constant employment are great preservatives of the morals and virtue of a nation. Hence bad examples to youth are more rare in America, which must be a comfortable consideration to parents. To this may be truly added, that serious religion, under its various denominations, is not only tolerated, but respected and practiced." --Benjamin Franklin, Information to Those Who Would Remove to America, 1782

Don't be complacent, and don't be idle.  Be involved, be active, and encourage others to be so as well.  Be it jobs, or being politically active, a refusal of being idle is good for America.  Pass the word, and spread the concept of being active.  Idleness is poison, but activity is virtuous.

James Wilson: A Broad Foundation Based on the People

"The pyramid of government -- and a republican government may well receive that beautiful and solid form -- should be raised to a dignified altitude: but its foundations must, of consequence, be broad, and strong, and deep. The authority, the interests, and the affections of the people at large are the only foundation, on which a superstructure proposed to be at once durable and magnificent, can be rationally erected." --James Wilson, Legislative Department, 1804

This week, the ACLJ went on the attack.

Our lawsuit against the IRS – filed on behalf of 25 conservative groups – made national and international news.

This lawsuit, the largest suit filed in ACLJ history, already has the Obama Administration on its heels. Contrary to the Administration's spin, IRS abuse is severe, widespread, and ongoing – and we can prove it.

Now we demand to know why the IRS Commissioner visited the White House more than any member of President Obama's cabinet.

The national outrage is building to a critical mass, with even mainstream media reporters asking tough questions.

We must maintain the pressure. More than 100,000 Americans have demanded that the Obama Administration end IRS abuses. Add your voice today.

Democrats: I know nutting

Is it me or does the democrats in Washington know absolutely nothing about what is going on?

I must ask, if they are completely ignorant of everything, who is running the government?

Deniability is a precious thing, I suppose, when you are a liberal left democrat.

Jane, my assistant at my Constitution Class has decided to rename the democrat party the "Sergeant Schultz Party."

And for those of you who know who SGT. Schultz was, thanks for exposing your age along with me.

Temecula Constitution Class tonight: Full Faith and Credit

Article IV beins with the Full Faith and Credit Clause. . . what does that mean?

Attend tonight and find out!

We meet every Thursday Night at 6:00 pm at Faith Armory in Temecula, California.

The handout. . .

-6-

Concerning the States, Amendments, Supremacy and Ratification

6.1 - Concerning the States

Full Faith and Credit

The Full Faith and Credit Clause is a clause in the Constitution which states that: “Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.” Put in simple language, under the Full Faith and Credit Clause judgments rendered in one State are acknowledged in others; when a U.S. citizen resolves an issue within one of the States that resolution must be recognized by all other States.

The Founding Fathers originally intended, with the Full Faith and Credit Clause, to protect the self-government autonomy of the States, while also promoting union of the sovereign States as well. To do this, the Founding Fathers needed to make sure that judicial rulings in one State would be respected by all States, because otherwise there would be a substantial opportunity for abuse. Doing so affirmed the autonomy of the individual States, while also ensuring that the states remained unified.

Without the Full Faith and Credit Clause, something as simple as a divorce would not be recognized outside the State where the proceeding took place. If one of the members of the divorced couple moved to another state, it would be necessary to file all over again, otherwise that person would still be considered married. However, thanks to the Full Faith and Credit Clause, the State that serves as the new home of the transplanted divorcee recognizes the divorce filed and approved in the State of origin.

The Full Faith and Credit Clause also protects against abusive litigation. If someone in one State sues someone and the court delivers a valid judgment, this person cannot file the same suit in another State. Under the Full Faith and Credit Clause, the outcome of the suit in the first State is recognized and considered to be the final judgment. Likewise, someone who is ruled against in litigation in a State cannot flee to another State to evade punishment, because the ruling in the first State's court is still valid in the new State.

Because of the Full Faith And Credit Clause, professionals like doctors and lawyers only need to go to school once. As they move to new States, they can apply for reciprocity in certification so that they can practice in their new location. Things like drivers licenses also benefit from the Full Faith and Credit Clause, because when people move to different States, they can renew their driving licenses in the new State without having to go through drivers' education a second time. As long as the standards for licensure are similar between the two States, no additional training or certification will be required for reciprocity.

Privileges and Immunities

Article IV, Section 2, Clause 1 gives the people of each state all the same privileges and immunities uniformly in each state. In other words, if a Texan moved to California, the Texan must be treated by California in no different manner than it treats Californians. A State, for example, could not pass a law keeping Texans out of their state, but letting others in. This violates the Constitution. A State cannot play favoritism in such a manner. All persons must be treated uniformly.

Extradition

Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2 states: A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime.

Fugitives that flee a State from justice to another State will be extradited on the demand of executive authority (governor) of the State from which the person fled from. The Constitution, in this clause, demands the extradition of fugitives who have committed "treason, felony or other crime," which means that it includes all acts prohibited by the laws of a state, including misdemeanors and small, or petty, offenses.

Since the word “shall” is used regarding the extradition order by the governor of the State, that means the extradition order will not be questioned. That also means the accused cannot defend himself against the charges in the extraditing state.  The fugitive may only defend himself against the charges in the state receiving him.

The courts have determined that the accused may prevent extradition by offering clear evidence that he was not in the state he allegedly fled from at the time of the crime in the case, Hyatt v. People ex rel. Corkran, 188 U.S. 691 (1903).

Fugitive Slaves

Article IV, Section 2, Clause 3 is obsolete because of the end of slavery, as per the 13th Amendment.  During the time the Constitution was written, slaves were seen as property, and the Constitution, as a compromise to assure that southern states ratified the founding document, included Article IV, Section 2, Clause 3, which demanded that escaped slaves be returned to their owners in the south, even if that slave was in a northern state.

The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 supported this clause of the Constitution, hoping to ensure under penalty of law that the slaves were in fact returned should they turn up in the north. Northern States were refusing to return escaped slaves, and the federal government refused to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act and the Constitution, creating, in the minds of the Southern States, a constitutional crisis.

Nullification is often blamed for its part in the onset of the American Civil War.  Those that argue that nullification was a part of bringing about the War Between the States will argue that the Southern States were guilty of nullifying perfectly reasonable federal laws.  In reality, the Southern States did not nullify any federal law.  It was the northern States that actively nullified federal law.  They nullified The Fugitive Slave Act by ignoring the legislation.  However, since The Fugitive Slave Act was constitutional, the nullification of the law by the northern States was unlawful, and unconstitutional.

New States

Article IV, Section 3, Clause 1 gives Congress the authority to admit new States. However, if a new State is formed within the borders of an existing State, from a portion of an existing State, or by combining two States, then the State legislatures of all States affected must also get involved. A great example of when this provision came into play is when West Virginia was formed from part of Virginia during the Civil War.  Based on this clause, if the 13 counties in California that threatened to secede in 2010 decided to go through with it, they would still need approval by the existing California State Legislature.

Territories and Federal Property

Article IV, Section 3, Clause 2 gives the Federal Government "power over the territory and property of the United States." Territories like Puerto Rico falls under this clause, treating the territories not as individual sovereign states, but as territories under the control of the U.S. Government.  Washington DC also falls under this clause, which means that Congress has authority over the functions of the city.  In reality, Washington DC was supposed to only be the seat of government, and was not supposed to contain any residencies.

Border Security and Insurrection

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,” meaning that each State may have its own constitution, as well as a representative government based on the rule of law. The Federal Government, according to this clause, must also protect each State from invasion, which is a firm directive to the federal government to keep the national borders secure so as to protect the States from foreign invasion.  The Federal Government, in this clause, is also tasked with quelling insurrection. The writing of this clause was directly influenced by the occurrence of Shays' Rebellion.

Terms:

Extradite: The surrender of a person charged with a crime by one state or country to another state or country.

Full Faith and Credit: In the context of the U.S. Constitution, Article IV, the phrase is defined as requiring all States in the U.S. to recognize and give effect to the legislation, public records, and judicial decisions of other States in the United States.  Full Faith and Credit also means: An unconditional commitment to pay interest and principal in debt, usually issued or guaranteed by the U.S. Treasury or another government entity.

Nullification: State power to ignore unconstitutional federal law.

Questions for Discussion:

1.  What kind of issues does the Full Faith and Credit Clause affect in today’s American society?

2.  How does the Full Faith and Credit Clause protect the autonomy of the State, while protecting their unity?

3.  For what kind of crimes may a person be extradited for?

4.  The northern States believed the Fugitive Slave Act to be a bad law, even though it was Constitutional, and believed that they had a right to nullify it because they perceived it to be immoral.  The Federal Government failed to enforce it, possibly for the same reasons.  How did this make the Southern States feel, and how did this action contribute to the secession of the Southern States?

5.  The federal government is tasked with the duty of protecting the States against invasion.  How does this affect the issue of illegal immigration?

Chains of the Constitution

Government can't be trusted, and the men behind bureacracies become corrupt.  The rule of man is tyranny, and freedom will be yet another casualty as this American Government under the leadership of the liberal left continues to grow larger.

Big Government was a danger recognized by the Founding Fathers, which is why the federal government was created with great limitations.

Jefferson put it best when he wrote:

"In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." --Thomas Jefferson, fair copy of the drafts of the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798

Pacific Justice Institute and the Gay Agenda

Pacific Justice Institute is a non-profit Christian legal institution that operates only on donated funding.  They were the team defending Proposition 8, and are now fighting against legislation that will force the gay agenda on Christian Counselors, Schools, and Christian Institutions.

The following is the latest letter from Brad Dacus, the President of Pacific Justice. . .

Dear Friends of Liberty,

I wanted to let you know about the latest court developments in our ongoing battle to defend Christian counselors against an unprecedented effort to silence their speech.

Those of you who have been following PJI's work for the past year know that we have lead the effort in both the Legislature and the courts to stop SB 1172. This law prohibits counselors, therapists, psychologists, and other mental health providers from approaching the topic of same sex attraction with minors in any way that does not affirm homosexual behavior. This law would apply even to professionals who serve on church staff (like our lead plaintiff in this case, Dr. Welch), and even when the young patient is specifically seeking help to reduce these attractions.

In early December of last year, we succeeded in getting the federal district court to grant a preliminary injunction to our plaintiffs that currently prevents this law from restricting their speech. The state of California appealed this ruling to the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. We filed extensive briefs, and PJI attorney Kevin Snider argued the case in April. This month, the Ninth Circuit asked for additional briefing to address a highly technical procedural question that could determine the outcome of this case. This shows that the Ninth Circuit is taking this case very serious, and carefully weighing their options. Yesterday (Tuesday) our attorneys filed this new legal brief with the Ninth Circuit to further defend the free speech rights of Christian counselors.

Please join us in praying for the outcome of this case as the Ninth Circuit considers our new brief. As God leads, please prayerfully consider also sending a special financial gift to assist us with the mounting litigation costs of this important case.

The following are articles on their website and at the Washington Times about the battles going on. . .

PJI Launches New Effort to Save Scouts, Students from “Gender Insanity”

03/22/2013

Sacramento, CA--The Pacific Justice Institute is announcing the launch of a new website and resources designed to counter two legislative bills that threaten the existence of the boy Scouts and would mandate some of the most aggressive invasions of privacy, freedom of association and religious freedom ever proposed in the name of LGBT rights.

The new site, www.GenderInsanity.com, spotlights two bills pending in the California legislature. Senate Bill (SB) 323 threatens to revoke tax exemptions from the Boy Scouts and many other non-profits, including religious schools, that do not affirm transgender or homosexual lifestyles. Meanwhile, Assembly Bill (AB) 1266 would require that K-12 public schools allow any student to use any “facilities” such as bathrooms and locker rooms, and join any sports team, based solely on the student’s subjective “gender identity,” not anatomical gender.

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, explained, “Forcing boys and girls to share bathrooms, locker rooms and sleeping arrangements is not equality; it is insanity. We are taking the extraordinary step of launching this new website and leading this fight because we see these mandates as a line in the sand we cannot afford to cross. Almost every family in California will be affected to some degree.” Dacus further explained the need for united action. “We can defeat these bills, but it is going to take parents being willing to write letters and make phone calls to their legislators. It is going to take Boy Scout troops showing up at the Capitol. Our greatest enemies are not rogue politicians, but complacency and a false sense of inevitability.”

New Bill Pushes Scouts, Little League, Religious Groups to Accept LGBT, “Gender Identity”

02/21/2013

Sacramento, CA – A new bill introduced this week in the California Senate would take some of the most aggressive action to date to force youth organizations to embrace homosexuality and “gender identity.”

SB 323, sponsored by Equality California and introduced by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D – Long Beach) threatens to revoke tax exempt status for a wide range of “youth groups” unless they agree to abandon any criteria related to gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and other categories.

The bill was designed to pressure the Boy Scouts to accept homosexuality, but its sweep goes much further. The bill specifically targets groups ranging from the Scouts to Special Olympics, Little League, Pop Warner, 4-H, Future Farmers of America, as well as youth sports in general. It also references private schools and “youth groups.”

Attorneys with Pacific Justice Institute are assessing all the potential implications of SB 323 and will be vigorously opposing it. “From the plain text of this bill, it is clear to us that SB 323 is one of the most outrageous bills we have seen in California—and that’s saying a lot,” said Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute. “We have been warning for years that the gay lobby would eventually use tax exemptions to force non-profits to capitulate to their demands, but it’s still shocking to see it actually in print and on its way to becoming law.”

Because SB 323 would have the effect of a massive tax increase on non-profits that stand by their principles, it requires 2/3 approval in both Senate and Assembly. This higher threshold makes it even more important that Californians call and visit their legislators to protest. PJI will provide updates throughout the legislative process.

Second suit filed against California’s gay-change therapy ban

Two sets of parents and their teenage sons are among the plaintiffs in a second federal lawsuit filed Thursday to block a new California law on counseling from going into effect.

Beginning Jan. 1, California minors will be prohibited from receiving “sexual-orientation change efforts” (SOCE) regarding their sexual orientation, behavior and gender expression, according to SB 1172, which was signed Sunday by California Gov. Jerry Brown.

This means that only therapies that are supportive or affirming of same-sex attractions will be permitted for underage clients. Therapists who disobey the law risk being disciplined for unprofessional conduct.

Gay-rights groups and many California mental health organizations either sponsored or endorsed the law, saying SOCE is unfounded and harmful to people.

But traditional-values groups and counselors and clients who support SOCE argued against it.

SB 1172 “is an astounding violation of the right to free speech and religious liberty,” said Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, a legal-defense organization that filed its lawsuit in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of California in Sacramento.

The law is wrong “because it is telling a client that he or she may not receive a specific viewpoint in counseling,” even if that viewpoint aligns with their religious or moral values, said Mr. Staver. “And, for the first time, it is telling a counselor, ‘You can only give one viewpoint and not another, even though your client requests the other viewpoint.’”

The Liberty Counsel plaintiffs include the American Association of Christian Counselors; National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality; NARTH President Christopher Rosik; NARTH co-founder Joseph Nicolosi; marriage and family therapist David Pickup; and two California couples who have teenage sons who wish to continue SOCE counseling for unwanted same-sex attractions. The families are not identified.

Earlier in the week, the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) also filed a lawsuit against SB 1172 in the same federal court.

U.S. Embassy Personnel Shot in Venezuela

Two US embassy personnel shot in Venezuela

CARACAS — Two employees of the US embassy in Venezuela were shot and wounded early Tuesday in the capital Caracas, in a murky incident that local media and a police source said took place at a strip club.

"We can confirm that two members of the US embassy in Caracas were injured during an incident early this morning," State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell told reporters in Washington.

"Medical staff inform us that their injuries are not life-threatening," he added, noting that they were hurt at "some sort of a social spot" but without specifying the venue or nature of their injuries.

God Is Dead - The Destruction From Within

By Douglas V. Gibbs

When one studies history regarding the Roman Empire, one of the things that sticks out is that though the barbarians of the north brought down the empire with constant attacks, it was not the barbarians that truly brought down the empire.  The internal moral decay and political instability after the representative system crumbled and a tyranny of powerful Caesars took control is what brought down the once great civilization.

The political system often follows the social system, so if the social system begins to follow standards based on relativism or pluralism, where morality is no longer based on a set moral code, but one that follows the whims of each individual person's desires, then how can one expect the political leaders to follow a set standard in the political realm?  As morality erodes, corruption sets in, and a greed for power and money becomes more important than the political system the person is supposed to represent.

Though it wasn't a single breakdown in morality that brought down the empire, the combination of them was enough to deteriorate the system to the point that nobody believed in the heartfelt nature of patriotism, and instead became more enthralled with entertaining their own personal pleasures.

According to Alexis de Tocqueville, "When the religion of a people is destroyed, doubt gets hold of the highest portions of the intellect, and half paralyses all the rest of its powers."

History is full of civilizations that lose their will to survive.  Attributed to Alexander Tytler, though the authorship is actually unknown, the following gives us perspective:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage
.

In Rome, homosexuality had become accepted as a normal part of society, and post-birth abortion, where babies up to two years of age were left on the roadside to die of exposure if the parents were not happy with how the child turned out, was common-place.  Debauchery was the norm, and the civilization had dropped into such moral decay that the once great empire was unable to hold up its own pants, much less defend against the constant bombardment of barbarian attacks.

In America, we rose as Tytler indicated, from the bondage of Europe to seek freedom of religion in the New World.  Our great courage led us through the Revolutionary War, and to the Constitutional Convention where the United States established liberty.  Our nation prospered, giving us abundance, and from that abundance we have become selfish, complacent, and apathetic.  Now, under a heavy burden of entitlement programs, we are becoming dependent upon the ruling class, and that opens up the opportunity for the barbarians of statism to chip away until the American System crumbles under the onslaught of tyranny, leading us back into the bondage we escaped over 230 years ago.

A large part of this crumbling from within is linked to the moral depredation of our society.

I offer only a few recent news stories, that portrays the reality of the moral decay of this nation. . .

Ladies of New York, you are free to walk bare-breasted through the city! New York City's 34,000 police officers have been instructed that, should they encounter a woman in public who is shirtless but obeying the law, they should not arrest her. This is a good step towards gender parity in public spaces.

This decision means that breast exposure is not considered public lewdness, indecent exposure, or disorderly conduct. It also notes that, should a crowd form around a topless woman, the officer should instruct the crowd to disperse and then respond appropriately if it does not. Relative coverage is no longer a factor.

This policy shift comes after several years of litigation and protest.

If you thought that our television channels were already saturated with enough sex, vulgarity and profanity, you may want to brace yourself – the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is proposing changes to its guidelines that would allow more racy content to infiltrate the small screen during hours when kids could tune in.

A public notice posted on the regulatory agency’s website last month said that FCC is launching a review that may end the prohibition of expletives and certain images of nudity on television. The FCC had first given the public until May 20 to weigh in on the hot-button issue, but that deadline was recently extended to June 19.

A federal court Tuesday struck down Arizona's ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy absent a medical emergency.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the law violated a woman's constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. "Viability" of a fetus is generally considered to start at 24 weeks. Normal pregnancies run about 40 weeks.

Nine other states have enacted similar bans starting at 20 weeks or even earlier. Several of those bans had previously been placed on hold or struck down by other courts.

----- Boy Scouts Approve Plan to Accept Openly Gay Members

After lengthy and wrenching debate, local leaders of the Boy Scouts of America have voted to open their ranks to openly gay boys for the first time, but heated reactions from the left and right made clear that the BSA's controversies are far from over.

The Scouts' longstanding ban on gay adults remains in force, and many liberal Scout leaders -- as well as gay-rights groups -- plan to continue pressing for an end to that exclusion even though the BSA's top officials aren't ready for that step.

Meanwhile, many conservatives within the Scouts are distraught at the outcome of the vote and some are threatening to defect.

----- Teacher Fired for Praying in School During Oklahoma Tornado

Friday a teacher working at an Oklahoma school hit hard by a devastating tornado this week was fired after admitting she had prayed out loud during the horrific event, and that a complaint was filed by an atheist family of a kindergarten student who was offended by the Christian prayer.

Paulina Trumble, 52, a twenty three year veteran educator at Briarwood Elementary School in Moore, Oklahoma knew she was in trouble the moment the cyclone passed after realizing she had uttered out loud a prayer to the Almighty, violating strict separation of church and state laws.

“In a moment when I believed we were all going to die I naturally sought comfort from the only place I knew,” said Trumble.

“I know prayer is strictly forbidden in classrooms, and the students know that too, but I’m only human and in the face of such terror I did break the rules. I’m sorry if I offended anyone or violated their civil rights.”

The family, who’s name is being kept anonymous for their own protection, filed the complaint with the school through an ACLU attorney even though the teacher was responsible for saving the life of their six year old child.

“Saving the life of my client’s child was Ms. Trumble’s responsibility and is to be expected,” said ACLU attorney Donald Ambulachasky. “Unfortunately, it is also a teacher’s responsibility to keep God out of the classroom and on that count Ms. Trumble failed miserably. It doesn’t matter the circumstances…. the law is the law, and someone must pay.”

Israel Warns Russia Against Arms Shipment to Syria

Hours after the European Union ended its embargo against arming the Syrian Rebels, Russia went into action to send arms to Syria.  The anti-aircraft missile systems Russia is to deliver would bring the missiles within striking distance of civilian and military planes over Israel's airspace.  Israel, in response to Russia's indication that they will be delivering this system to the Syrian Government issued a thinly veiled warning that it would bomb the Russian S-300 missiles if they were sent to Syria.

“The shipments haven’t set out yet and I hope they won’t,” Moshe Ya’alon, the Israeli defence minister, said. “If they do arrive in Syria, God forbid, we’ll know what to do.”

The shipment to the Syrian Government by Russia is based on a previous agreement, and Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Sergey Ryabkov said the purpose was to dissuade “some hotheads” from entering the conflict, referring to Britain and France who have shown they may send arms to the Syrian rebels now that the embargo has been lifted.

Obama Says War On Terror Is Over

By Douglas V. Gibbs

First of all, it is not a war on terror, but a war against the Islamic Jihad.  Second, I find it appalling that Barack Obama is trying to redefine the war on terror, and is saying that the post 911 era is over.  Does he not get it that war doesn't end just because we decide to say it is over?  It is not time to say the war is winding down when terrorist activity in Europe, and the United States, is on the increase.

Did the hacking to death of a British soldier by a Muslim not count as a terror attack?  What about the Boston Marathon?

Is this an attempt to delegitimize America's military, and to weaken us in the eyes of the enemy?

Lastly, the Islamic Jihad will not stop because bin Laden is dead, or any other victory the federal government wants to claim.  Islam hates us because we are not Muslim, and because they believe us to be a Christian nation.  The goal is world conquest, where Shariah is a worldwide law.  Until we understand that, we have no chance to defend ourselves against the Islamic Jihad.

The manipulation of prices in the oil market is ridiculous, but the Middle Eastern oil producers can do so at will because, with the exception of a few producers that, for the most part, are allies with the Muslim oil producers, they have dang-near a monopoly.  We just don't have enough oil to compete, we are told, so we are unable to even put a dent in the market.  That said, Islam enjoys massive riches from their oil production, the only resource the Middle East has, and with that wealth they fund Islamic terrorism, which is tasked with destroying the very countries that are buying oil from them.

In other words, we are funding our enemy by buying their oil.

The democrats claim that we need energy independence, so they tout green energy, but strangely oppose any push for domestic drilling, or something like the Keystone Pipeline, which would transport oil from the northern United States, and Canada, to our refineries in the south, and ultimately lead to our energy independence.

We must ask, "Why?"

If a new oil producer, one that could take a large share of the market and essentially enable the West to let go of the need to import Middle Eastern oil, were to emerge, not only would the Middle Eastern oil producers suffer, but the funding of the terrorism associated with the Islamic jihad would suffer, as well.

If we had enough oil to make an impact, and we went after it with domestic drilling and creating pipeline systems for transporting that oil, we could reduce the cost of energy, while also hurting the ability of our enemy to strike at us by cutting into the racket they use to fund terrorism.

Makes sense, right?

Such action would definitely be best for the country.

Here is where the difference between the Right and the Left emerges.  Conservatives in the United States stand on principles that they believe to be best for the prosperity, and security, of their country.  The liberal left uses a platform that is not best for the country, but one that is best for the party, and the ideology.

Which gives us a partial answer to why the Democrats oppose domestic drilling and the Keystone Pipeline, while pumping money into a failed green energy technology that they know is doomed to fail, in the first place.

They have to, if they want to keep getting money from the Muslim oil producing nations, and associated organizations, for their political endeavors.

In other words, the Democrats are selling our future as a nation out to money from an enemy that wants to destroy America.

And they call the GOP the party of greed!

The fact is, the United States has plenty of oil, and could make more than just a dent on the world market.  In fact, there is no other nation on the globe that has more energy resources than the United States does. We are absolutely swimming in oil and natural gas, and that doesn't take into consideration how much coal we have.  If there is such thing as peak oil (which I believe fossil fuels are actually renewable resources, so peak oil is a myth), then at current consumption rates, America has enough energy resources to completely satisfy all of its needs well into the 22nd century.

That means, if our resources did not enter the global market, we would not have to import a single drop of foreign oil.

Since the system is a worldwide market, then our oil would increase the world supply, and based on the dynamics of supply-and-demand, the price of oil would drop dramatically.

So whether we keep it for ourselves, or enter the global market, domestic drilling is a win-win situation for the United States.

The United States is an energy rich nation and new discoveries of oil and natural gas deposits are being made all the time.

The Democrats refuse to believe that, or at least refuse to let you believe that, and that is why they say things like Barack Obama's statement of fabrication:

“With only 2% of the world’s oil reserves, we can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices”

Jimmy Carter said pretty much the same thing:

“Unless profound changes are made to lower oil consumption, we now believe that early in the 1980s the world will be demanding more oil than it can produce”.
We have enough oil, and in fact so much oil that it is possible that if we began to produce oil domestically, we could actually tilt the oil-production-balance-of-power.  In fact, the very liberal BBC, has come to that very conclusion.

The BBC headline reads: US shale oil supply shock shifts global power balance.

The only thing stopping us, according to the article, are the environmentalists, who claim that "costs to the environment are too large."

The BBC calls our shale oil reserves a "steeper-than-expected rise", as if the oil just suddenly appeared, when in reality, this nation is sitting on enough oil to put even Saudi Arabia to shame.  It's just a matter of being willing to pull it out of the ground.

The article goes on to reveal that the writer believes that over the next five years, the US will account for a third of new oil supplies.

In other words, we could easily change our role from the leading importer of oil to a net exporter.  Our rise to becoming a significant exporter would hurt Middle-East oil producers, who, if you remember, manipulates the prices at will, and use their oil wealth to fund Islamic terrorism against the West.

Canadian oil sands production is also contributing to the "supply shock", which we could be tapping into if the idiots in Washington would be willing to go ahead with the Keystone Pipeline.

North Dakota, in fact, is in the process of enjoying an oil boom, using hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to access the more than 18 billion barrels of oil contained within the Bakken formation.

If we continue to increase domestic drilling, and if we can convince the federal government to back off and unleash the free market in these oil rich areas, the United States could overtake Russia as the world's largest gas producer by 2015, and become "all but self-sufficient" in its energy needs by about 2035 (according to the BBC).

The liberal left, who is what is holding up our domestic drilling and pipelines, through an environmental agenda that is based on pseudo-science and unproven assumptions, complains every time we enter the Middle East in a military fashion, calling such military excursions, "war for oil."

If the United States became a worldwide leader in oil production, we would never need to go to war for oil, so you would think they'd support domestic efforts regarding fossil fuel energy.

Logic, and common sense, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be a large commodity among the members of the liberal left.

Standing Army and Civil Disturbances

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution, the Congressional appropriation of money for funding the Army is limited to two years.  There is no limitations on funding the Navy, and in fact the Congress is instructed in the next clause to "provide and maintain a Navy."

The Founding Fathers feared a standing army.  Yes, an army is needed for the common defense of the nation, in order to protect the union, and the sovereign States, from foreign invaders.  However, the fears of the federal government growing into a tyranny, and using the standing army against the citizenry, was a reality.

When the police were marching through the streets of Boston in search of the Marathon Bomber, I wondered if there was anyone else as uncomfortable with the jackboot troops going door to door and searching the homes without a warrant.  What is even more interesting is that it wasn't the police marching through the streets that caught the hiding Chechnyan, but a citizen who went against police orders by going outside to have a cigarette, and noticing something wrong with his boat.

Sure, I get it, they were just trying to do their job.  But how close were they to the fine line between "protect and serve" and "police state"?

What kind of precedent did the Boston street to street search set?

It is bad enough that we have a liberal left control of government that considers pretty much anyone that opposes them to be potential domestic terrorists.

The U.S. Code has just been adjusted to make it easier for the federal government to provide military support to the already military-style capabilities of local law enforcement agencies.  The Pentagon has granted to the military the ability to police the streets of America without obtaining prior local or state consent.

Prior to this change, federal agencies have to obtain permission of local authorities before entering into and operating in local jurisdictions.  From a Constitutional point of view, the move is an invasion of State Sovereignty, and yet another move towards federal control over the States, and turning our society into a police state.  The allowance, according to the new language in the U.S. Code, is that military intervention can me used in the event of “civil disturbances.”

One wonders how long before the federal government decides to define a TEA Party Rally as being a civil disturbance.

A defense official claims this authority is nothing new, claiming, “The authorization has been around over 100 years; it’s not a new authority. It’s been there but it hasn’t been exercised. This is a carryover of domestic policy.” Moreover, he insists the Pentagon doesn’t “want to get involved in civilian law enforcement. It’s one of those red lines that the military hasn’t signed up for.” Nevertheless, he says, “every person in the military swears an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of the United States to defend that Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

Is the domestic enemy that has gained control of the federal government going to claim that all opposition to their policies are domestic enemies?

The military commander will have unlimited powers on the scene, being allowed to judge for himself his own definition for what constitutes, “wanton destruction of property,” “adequate protection for Federal property,” “domestic violence,” or “conspiracy that hinders the execution of State or Federal law,” and if the circumstances might be considered an “emergency.”

And once the federal government begins to exercise this power, the slippery slope will be in full swing.  The government never gives up power - it only increases it.

The U.S. military is allowed to intervene according to Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution to protect the States against invasion, and when the State requests assistance through the legislature, or executive if the legislature cannot convene, against domestic violence.

Agenda 21 and Thomas Jefferson

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Agenda 21 is a United Nations resolution and treaty that remains unratified by the United States Senate, and therefore is not a treaty we are required by the law of the land to conform to.  The members of the liberal left ideology will claim, if they are familiar with it, that Agenda 21 is a mandate, or should be.  The sinister realities of the program has been oozing out, however, so the name is currently being changed to "Future Earth" because the truth getting out has given the term "Agenda 21" a negative connotation.  What it is, according to its proponents, is a "voluntary" United Nations inspired plan of action to save the planet.  The key characteristics, according to its supporters, is to work through organizations and governments around the globe to ensure the environmental sustainability of our planet.

According to the U.N.’s own website, Agenda 21 is a “comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations system, governments and major groups, in every area in which human has an impact on the environment.”

In other words, humanity is a danger to the environment, and actions must be taken to reduce humanity's impact on nature in order to save the planet.  The sustainability of our existence on this planet depends on us taking action now, according to the Agenda 21 faithful, and such actions include taking governmental control of privately owned lands (through a one-world government, if necessary), depopulation (population control through the means of birth control, abortion, and a forced reduction in population that is not fully defined), and herding people out of the rural areas and into the population centers so as to impact the areas outside of the cities as little as possible.

“Sustainable development” is the catch-phrase they use, so be aware that anything you see on your city's general plan, or in any of their doings, that uses the term "sustainable development" or "sustainable" is evidence of compliance by your city (or county, or State) with the U.N. Agenda 21 program.

What this all means is that the government, guided by international and globalist urgings, is poised to dictate to you where you can live and what land should be designated for a fully-realized Agenda 21 plan.  Ultimately, it is intended for all of these lands to be controlled by the United Nations and a future one-world government. To achieve this eventuality, nations must relinquish their sovereignty, the population must abandon nature's realm. To manage so many people in the cities the population of the planet must be dramatically reduced, and the population must be maintained by government dictates within the cities.

The claims offered by those that support Agenda 21, of course, do not contain the insidious aims that includes actions by the governments and United Nations that only George Orwell, Karl Marx, and Adolf Hitler could have dreamed up.  The proponents of "Sustainable Development" insist that the plan's human resettlement actions will improve the social, economic and environmental quality of human settlements, as well as protect the outside environment from human habitation, while improving the living conditions and working environments of all people, in particular the urban and rural poor.  Cooperation within this new collective is necessary, and with the help of government (of course if you refuse to cooperate, you will be forced to do so by the body politic, for the good of the community under the wise hand of the ruling elite) the improvements to our society will be based on us working together using greater technology, and partnerships between all of the sectors (in other words the government will control the public, private and community sectors).

Because wealthy white men have always been the power curve (according to the liberal left) the decision-making process will be handled by community groups and special interest groups such as women, indigenous people, the elderly and the disabled.

Agenda 21 represents the ultimate collective approach to national settlement strategies. The development of these strategies will require countries to set priorities based on their social and cultural capabilities, making appropriate provisions to monitor the impact of their strategies on marginalized and disenfranchised groups, with particular reference to the needs of women.

By moving the populations in to the cities, the government will need to ensure adequate shelter for all, while managing the human settlement from a centralized location so that individuality and local politics do not interfere with the ruling elite, through their immense wisdom that I am thinking they believe would rival the Great and Powerful Wizard of OZ, improving life for the human collective.

While managing the populations in the population centers, the centralized governmental system will then be tasked with promoting sustainable land-use planning and management which will include reducing human settlements in the rural areas to minimally necessary levels, as defined by the ruling elite.  In other words, private property ownership will become a thing of the past, and so will rural-living.

Meanwhile, the government must also take care to ensure that they properly manage, without hurting the outside environment, the environmental infrastructure, including water, sanitation, drainage and solid-waste management, while promoting sustainable energy and transport systems in human settlements (in other words regulate your energy usage and where you are allowed to travel).

Ultimately, they will eliminate the private ownership of any conveyance, demanding that the population use only public transportation, and never leave their assigned region.

The fearful part, among the incredible number of fearful parts, of all of this is that Agenda 21 is being implemented right now, and Americans are already experiencing its implementation without even realizing it.  The power structure veils the implementation with claims that it is all good for the community.

The Bible says that the great counterfeiter reveals himself as an angel of light.

Worse, the proponents of Agenda 21 have managed to slip it under the radar, using the school system, media, and entertainment industry to work Agenda 21 into the everyday thinking of the average citizen, as the politicians works to implement Agenda 21 into everyday life slowly but surely.  This means that you don't realize the insidious nature of it because it is not being put into action in a manner that would concern you, and the indoctrination of our younger generations means that once us younger folks are gone, it is planned that the younger generation will welcome the tyranny of Agenda 21 with thunderous applause.

I wondered what the Founding Fathers would think of the sinister nature of Agenda 21 and sustainable development, and then I came across something Thomas Jefferson said about cramming everyone into the cities:

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe ." -- Thomas Jefferson

I then wondered about what the tyrants of history would have thought about this, and I came across a quote by Adolf Hitler:

"When an opponent declares,
'I will not come over to your side.'
I calmly say, 'Your child belongs to us already…
What are you? You will pass on.
Your descendants, however,
now stand in the new camp.
In a short time they will know nothing
else but this new community.'"

Memorial Day is about our Fallen

By Douglas V. Gibbs

This morning after I sat down in the living room chair to take stock of what my plans were for Memorial Day, 2013, I watched story after story after story on television about our brave military service members, and their heroic journeys through war, and life after discharge.  I appreciate their service, and as a military veteran myself, I understand their plight.  I am glad that the media, though sometimes through a biased lens that is not so supportive, is willing to produce these stories.  They are a glimpse into a world that we rarely have an opportunity to see.

Though I appreciate the fact that on Memorial Day folks are thanking our veterans, and active military, for their service, and that the mainstream media is producing features about our military and veterans that sometimes show them in a favorable light, we must remember that Memorial Day is not about them.  Memorial Day is about our fallen.  It is about honoring those heroes that died while in service.

Memorial Day is about those citizen soldiers that comprised the 3% of the colonists that were willing to stand against the greatest military power of the day to fight for the independence of a new nation.

Memorial Day is about those fighting men of the American Revolution that often wore no shoes, and weren't exactly sure what they had gotten themselves into.  They fought a well-armed professional military with limited supplies, and basic weaponry.  They pledged, despite the odds against them, their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for an idea - a new grand experiment based on the principles of liberty and self-governance.

Memorial Day is about a young military that, to protect our trade-routes and sea-going vessels, stormed the shores of Tripoli, and other locations far across the ocean, during the Barbary Wars.

Memorial Day is about the second revolution where, during the War of 1812, the young nation's new military once again faced off with the most powerful military in the world, against all odds, and out-gunned.  Yet, those brave soldiers were willing to give up their lives, if necessary, for an idea called freedom.

Memorial Day is about those brave soldiers that fought to support Americans during the westward expansion, against fierce opposing forces, and incredible numbers.

Memorial Day is about the brothers that fought their brothers in a bloody civil war that defined America's resolve to truly reveal the meaning of the phrase: All Men Are Created Equal.

Memorial Day is about the rough riders that stormed San Juan Hill, and the brave Americans that did all that was necessary to protect America's interests in the war with Spain merely thirty years after the severe weakening of America's forces from the War Between The States.

Memorial Day is about the brave warriors in a war that America did not have to enter, but did to protect Europe against the war machines of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire.

Memorial Day is about the greatest generation as they gave their lives in yet another defense of freedom in Europe, and this time also in the Pacific, as they fought, and lost many troops and sailors, against the tyranny of the Axis Powers.

Memorial Day is about the Americans that served to stop the spread of communism in Korea and Vietnam, bravely putting their lives on the line when the politicians were unwilling to fight to win.

Memorial Day is about those Americans that gave their lives during the Cold War - a war that was often not cold, and a war that was won because of our resolve to remain strong in the face of the enemy.

Memorial Day is about those Americans that served in the Persian Gulf at a time before we fully understood what we were up against - doing it simply to protect a smaller nation from the advancing tyranny of a dictator.

Memorial Day is about those Americans that extended, or entered service, after September 11, 2001 for the purpose of defending this nation against an enemy we still understood very little.

Memorial Day is about the gunfire in the village, and the explosions on the roadway.  Memorial Day is about the heroes that, knowing the dangers and believing in the cause, gave their lives for the freedom of people they didn't even know.

Memorial Day is about our fallen.  It is a day for prayers and reflection.  It is about thanking those we can no longer thank in person.  It is about visiting the cemeteries where they lie, dropping off flowers and American Flags at their graves.  Kneeling in prayer, and dropping tears on their name plates as we remember their sacrifice.

My grandfather, World War II Veteran Thurman Douglas Clark, and my dear friend, Vietnam Veteran Paul Young, rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Southern California, surrounded by heroes - surrounded by our blessed fallen who gave their lives so that we may live in liberty.

Memorial Day is about an idea called freedom, and remembering those that gave their lives to protect that idea..

Leadership

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As a military veteran, I understand the importance of good leadership in a society.  Leadership is a fascinating concept, for without enough leadership qualities the system is too weak to survive in the face of catastrophe, yet with leadership applied too strongly, the system becomes nothing more than a dictatorship.

Human beings are slaves to our human nature.  We are all unique individuals who think and act differently from each other.  We can learn, and we can adjust, but for the most part, we are set in our ways.  It takes a good leader to guide us where we need to be, as a united front, despite our differences.

When I talk about military leadership, and what makes a good leader in the military, I am not talking about the barking drill sergeant in boot camp, beautifully embodied in the character, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket, nor am I talking about some doughy pushover.  A good leader is not some boot camp Ensign or 2nd Lieutenant barking orders about something he knows nothing about except for what he read in the textbook, and a good leader is not Kilgore, the character Robert Duvall played in Apocalypse Now where he misused his leadership role in search of good surf.  A leader is a special character, and often doesn't even realize he or she is a good leader.  They just do what they see as being the right thing, in accordance to the authorities vested in them.  In the Constitution, the leader of the nation, the President of the United States, was envisioned as being just like George Washington - a large military leader that was gentle, and carried his own set of powerful moral ethics, while also being able to command and demand respect without having to raise his voice, or his fist, in anger.

Leadership is James Madison's wisdom, Andrew Jackson's determination, and Grant's ability to grind away at Robert E. Lee's forces while keeping the confederate mastermind from maneuvering out of reach.

Leadership is Truman's willingness to drop the atom bomb when all other choices had expired; Calvin Coolidge's willingness to cut taxes, spending, and regulations for the betterment of the nation, against the advise of many of the political talking heads around him - which resulted, by the way, in unbridled prosperity.  Leadership is Ronald Reagan's ability to communicate strongly and decisively to a nation faced with economic upheaval and a communist enemy set on our destruction.  Leadership is the determination, yet genuine understanding, exhibited by George W. Bush when communicating with a nation that had just been struck by terrorism on September 11, 2001.

Leadership requires strength, and self-imposed limitations.  Leadership understands the great power being held, leading as necessary, but never overusing the power granted by those around him.  Leadership is the ability to lead at the top, while remembering one is still a member of the nation, who has been privileged with the opportunity to lead.  Leadership revealed itself on the ridges of Gettysburg where the grimly determined, stubborn soldiers refused to relent.  But in the end, the success of the campaign was because of the leader, not just the men.  The leader takes all responsibility on his shoulders, holds himself responsible for all actions within his unit.  He is understanding, yet firm.  He is ethical and moral.  He is willing to give credit to his unit when credit is due, and take responsibility for failure upon himself when such a need arises.

We have no leader in the White House.

Georgia Guidestones - A Call for a New Age, and Defeat at the Hands of Islam

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The message of the Georgia Guidestones is engraved on eight faces of the four upright stones in eight different languages.  The message is in English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.

The ten guidelines are:

1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

The list of ten is a list of progressive liberal left fantasies towards creating a communal utopian system. The first is a call for protection against the population explosion, as made famous by Paul R. Ehrlich's book, "The Population Bomb." It is kind of ironic that the whole idea in itself was founded through communist principles. Ehrlich called for the government to control the consumption of natural resources and food supplies, eliminating unnecessarily environmentally damaging technologies, and to find a way to radically reduce the planet's population size (one must ask how that would be done - mass extermination?).  Ehrlich was also one to support bringing down the affluent, so as to reduce overconsumption by the rich.  It was considered by him to be, after all, the humane thing to do.  Hate the rich, tax the rich, and ultimately eliminate the rich.  Marx's battle between the bourgeois and proletarians, anyone?

The second guideline calls for guiding reproduction wisely, which stinks of the slaughter of the unborn (abortion).

In the third guideline the call for giving humanity a living new language is, I suppose, an anti-Tower of Babel call.  After all, the confusion keeps us from building our way to becoming gods, right?

The fourth guideline, though it tries to explain it in such a poetic manner, is a call for the elimination of religion, and to institute a more "reasonable" secular society.  I will expound more upon this one later in the article.

The fifth guideline, using the key liberal word of "fair," is simply a call for what the left calls "social justice."  In other words, using government to force equality of result through the redistribution of wealth, and the use of the courts to strike down all that refuse to comply with the new age of reason.  Oh, yeah, that sounds like freedom and liberty, right?

The sixth guideline is basically a call for an end of national sovereignty, and to allow a global or international organization serve as the arbiters of justice.  A dangerous proposition that basically creates a new world order oligarchy that lets a few power elites control and enslave an entire world.

Guideline seven, calling for an avoidance of petty laws and useless officials seems reasonable enough.  Who wants a bunch of petty laws and useless officials running around?  Sounds good, until you begin to dig.  To R.C. Christian, the man behind the Georgia Guidestones, a system of representation is useless, filled with useless officials making petty laws.  He is calling for the centralization of government, removing representative institutions and local governmental entities, consolidating all of the power at the top.  We must remember, however, that all tyrannies demand centralized systems, which in turn dissolves the people into a homogeneous mass of subjects.  The operation of the central government would then be left to a ruling elite who is presumed to recognize what is best for society, making all voluntary associations subject to government regulation and control in the name of reason and what is best for the collective.  Such a system would spell the end of individual liberty, and individuality would be stamped out, restrained by the body politic.  In turn, innovation and the incentives to improve one's life, and one's station in life, would be wiped out.

Social justice once again pops its head up in guideline eight.  We must remember, as unique individuals, we will never fully voluntarily succumb to what the body politic calls for, so our social duties will become mandatory, mandated by the ruling elite, and punished by the law should we refuse - once again for the good of the people, or the good of the collective.  Human Nature runs opposed to such guidelines that seem fine on paper, but require a totalitarian governmental system to enforce.

Guideline nine is quite Orwellian.  "Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.  But to such a system, what is truth, beauty, love and harmony?  Who defines such a thing?  And if there are those that oppose the government mandated definitions of truth, beauty, love and harmony, will that governmental body punish those that dare oppose their definitions?  Hate crime laws are a perfect example of this guideline in action.

The final guideline relegates humanity down to the level of cancer.  We are a parasite on this planet according to people like R.C. Christian.  We are holding back nature.  This guideline reeks of militant environmentalism that places humanity somewhere at the bottom of the totem pole, and demands radical and extreme measures like Agenda 21 that demands we all of humanity be boxed into a few cities, never to be allowed out into the rural areas where we are doing what we can to save Kangaroo Rats, Gnat Catchers, and some nearly extinct weed.

The message on the Georgia Guidestones is ominous, lending to a belief system that is in direct opposition of the founding principles of this nation, and the principles of Biblical text.  Reading the text brought back memories of those who believe that humanity's supposed evolution is leading us to a kind of new age, be it the Age of Aquarius, or some kind of singularity where humanity is presumed to reach the level of God, and therefore the existence of gods are a moot point and unnecessary.

The Georgia Guidestones hearkens memories of those that called for an age of reason, a force that was behind the French Revolution, and the rise of the Illuminati.   They are presented as being a reasonable thing, and some of them, on their face, seem to be.  But in reality, the guidelines call for a system that must enforce such demands on society, for human nature would never voluntarily pursue such.

The message on the guidestones unleashes the principles of fanaticism, and as we proceed through our new century, we have come to the realization that our battle is one that will either be a renewal of constitutional values and traditions, or disintegration into a statist system where the increasing power of government will dictate the parameters of society, and enforce a list of demands by the ruling elite akin to those listed on the Georgia Guidestones.

The secular left desires the message on the guidestones, and are willing to stop at nothing to ensure it happens, regardless of reality, and regardless of other forces that are also positioning for domination.  Islam is a key component in this battle, for the primary barrier against Islamic infestation across the entire world has been the opposing faiths of Judaism and Christianity.  The secular world seeks to make the world less religious, to eliminate the influence of religious faith on society, but when a system is void of religion, and becomes a secular society, there is no resistance to the advancing hordes of of the Islamic Jihad.

It is no accident that in European societies the strongest Islamic outrages in recent years have been in Denmark, Netherlands, and France - countries that are radically secular.  Muslims view such an inability to resist them a weakness.  Reality dictates that the more open and liberal a society, the more likely it will be a target for jihad.

The secular left, while endeavoring to achieve a society of reason based on principles much like those on the Georgia Guidestones, considers Islamic radicalism to be the result of deplorable conditions in the Muslim World.  The secular left refuses to accept that there is a more rational explanation for Islam's seemingly irrational behavior.  They refuse to recognize that the violence is fomented by religious zealotry anchored in a deep hate of all things non-Muslim.  To recognize such a reality would also be to recognize that Islam is something that no secular left concessions could possibly mitigate.

R.C. Christian, the man behind the Georgia Guidestones, believed that a new age of reason is on the precipice, and if only humanity could let go of the shackles of religion, mankind can enter the new age of reason.  But as with his American Liberal counterparts, the endeavor as depicted on the Georgia Guidestones can only manifest in a world that is a completely static place, without exceptions, without anomolies, and without detours.  As with Asimov's Foundation Series, where Hari Seldon's plan was flawless if not for the radical figure known as "The Mule," the secular left's plans are destined to be derailed by reality, and unintended consequences.

How our society handles the inevitable confrontation with Islam will define whether or not we will survive as a society.  Without core values, and the willingness to protected those fundamental principles, the confrontation between Islam and the West is destined to end in disaster.  The task is spiritual, and no one is willing to fight to the death for liberal philosophies against the advancing forces of Islam.  The system, left to ideas embodied in the writings on the Georgia Guidestones, is doomed to fail, fall apart, and be conquered.

The reality is that utopia is not around the corner, and it never has been.  Humanity is defined by struggle, and the way to defeat evil is with good.  Power must meet power.  We must have the courage to pledge to each other our lives, fortunes, and sacred honor (as the Declaration of Independence puts it) or the seductive tenets of secularism with create for us a society that is destined to be overrun and defeated.  We either must experience a revival of traditional values based on the principles that led the Founding Fathers to the writing of the U.S. Constitution, or we will be conquered by the forces that oppose us.

While fearing a theocracy by the Christian Right that was never going to materialize, the secular left is working to create their own theocracy with American Liberalism, in the long run setting themselves up to be conquered by an Islamic theocracy.

Secularism has concluded that God cannot exist, and that self-satisfied conviction has determined that we need no godly moral code, and no set system of virtuous standards - which in turn has created for us a loss of social cohesion, making our civilization unable to defend against those that wish to tear us down.  Our free society cannot endure if it is unwilling to conserve the principles that made it a free and prosperous society in the first place.

Therefore, the Georgia Guidestones must not be a vision of guidance into the new age of reason as advertised, but a warning of what we could pursue if we are stupid enough to do so, which would ultimately result in our demise as a system.

Gibbs on KCAA 1050 AM and KCAAradio.com at 2:00 pm Pacific tackles the Trayvon Martin Case, the collapse of the I-5 bridge in Washington, The IRS, The Fifth Amendment, a massive Oklahoma Tornado, and this very important Memorial Day Weekend, Doug will interview a candidate for Riverside County Sheriff, Chad Bianco.

To wrap it all up, JASmius will join me to go over the. . .
