Fighting Gaia

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Years ago I got into a discussion with a cousin who disagreed with me on a number of points, and finally she concluded that my idiotic belief in a fantasy like the story of Jesus Christ was too much for her, and she has not talked to me since.  I have no problem staying in touch, but the tolerant liberal inside of her can't stomach to communicate with me because I dare to disagree with her.

She called my belief in Christ a fantasy she can't believe I have faith in.

Meanwhile, she believes in Gaia.  In her version of her belief system, which borrows much of its foundation from paganism and new age mysticism, Gaia is a female goddess (because only a female is properly equipped to handle the complexities of the universe), and the Christian God is an emanation from Gaia that is actually evil because He created materialism.  Judas Iscariot is a hero to her because he enabled Christ to escape the prison of a material body.  Cain, also, is a hero to her, for freeing Abel from his evil material body.  The ultimate goal is to become a spirit again, and to leave this evil material world.  Those who believe in the Christian God are following, according to my cousin, an evil spirit.

But Christianity is too fantastic and ridiculous to believe in.  She is fully convinced what she believes, however, makes all the sense in the world.

Paganism, Gaia, and the mysticism that surrounds these beliefs, are directly opposed to God.  In the Garden of Eden the chain of disobedience began, and it has been mankind's fleshly desire to disprove God, and then become God.

Christians have seen the rise of paganism on the horizon.  Many have believed that when Christ returns for His followers, among the signs of that return will be the rise of anti-God belief systems like Paganism.

The elite, those that think they are somehow above everyone else, are infested with this kind of destructive belief systems.  The evidence is around us, and it is frightening.  It reminds us that the age-old battle is no different than before.  Same insanity.  Different players.

I shuddered when I heard about Tina Fey's character on 30 Rock proclaiming she could feel Gaia flowing through her, or witnessed the pagan symbolism during the Grammy Awards.  That is among the reasons that with the Left, evidence that theirs is a system of historic failure falls on deaf ears.  They are the elite.  They are above everyone.  They have Gaia on their side.  Therefore, despite a history of failure, this time, they are convinced, because they are in charge, Utopia will be achieved.

Then, humanity will be ready for the singularity, when God is vanquished, and humanity replaces Him.

The war we fight is larger than we sometimes realize.  This is beyond political disagreement.  This is an all out war for the soul of humanity.  There is another name for this kind of Paganism.  It is called Satanism.  The Occult.

Thoughtcrime: Quoting Winston Churchill Leads to Arrest in Britain

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In environmentalism, there are protected species that are protected by law.  Daring to even venture into their habitat can be punishable by law.  In society, there are also protected groups, sometimes protected by law, and sometimes by the political correctness lynch mob.  In America, daring to disagree, or holding an opinion contrary to the one demanded by the liberal left, can cause you to be shunned, prosecuted in court, fined, or to lose your business or sports team.  The accusation can be anything from racism to bigotry against homosexuals.  In Britain, Islam has such a hold that a quote from history, if it only upsets one person because they feel it is offensive to Islam, can land a politician in a lot of hot water.

The accused is a candidate in the European elections.  The charge?  Racial harassment after quoting a passage about Islam by Winston Churchill.  The quote was unleashed during a campaign speech by Paul Weston, a British candidate for a European election.

The speech was made on the steps of Winchester Guildhall, in Hampshire, last weekend.  A single person took offense at the quote, taken from Churchill's The River War, and called police.

It takes just one person to claim that they were offended.

The passage from the book, written by the wartime Prime Minister and first published in 1899, focuses on Churchill's observations about Islam while serving during the Anglo-Egyptian reconquest of the Sudan. Mr Weston told his audience: "Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live."

Weston quoted Churchill, and a member of the audience called the authorities to have him arrested.

Mr. Westin was quoting Churchill, a hero to Brits, for God's sake.  And the observation is true.  Islam's wake is exactly what Churchill claimed.

"Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith."

Winston Churchill made this observation about Islam, as did Thomas Jefferson, and as any person with common sense and a working pair of eyeballs can.

Conformity of thought is the goal.  Think the way the government tells you, or be arrested.  The law has become a tool to persecute those that dare think as individuals, outside the mainline thinking allowed by government, and those that have allied with the power structure.  They are prosecuting people for saying politically incorrect things.

It happens here, too.  Just ask any business that has refused to go against their faith and bake a gay marriage wedding cake.  Just ask Cliven Bundy.  Just ask Donald Sterling.

The Housing Recovery Lie

By Douglas V. Gibbs

While riding in a vehicle with a friend of mine to a recent event, he told me that the American Economy requires that the construction industry, and the housing market in general, is vibrant.  When a house is built, he was telling me, thirty different people are involved in the construction of that project, from underground and grading all the way to the final touches regarding landscaping.  Those thirty people then spend the money they earned building that house at various other places of business for products, or services.  All parts of the economy benefit from the involvement of those thirty people building that house.  Therefore, it is safe to say, based on his observation, that a housing recovery is an essential part of turning around America's economy, and heading us back in the proper direction financially.

The democrats have hailed that the housing recovery is in full swing.  The republicans have said that the recovery is sputtering, and that the housing market can't seem to pick up any momentum.

According to Heidi Moore, U.S. finance and economics editor at The Guardian, the idea that the United States is experiencing a housing recovery is a sham, and she began saying so in June of 2013.

The sales of new homes are plunging, dropping 14.5% in March, compared to February. Existing homes sales are also not on the rise.  The demand for home loans has hit a 14-year low.  Yet, reports continue to stream in that home sales are rising, and that the housing recovery is underway.

Moore says that the latest run of weak data suggests the same concerns she raised when the recovery was humming along last summer. Moore says the recent slowdown reveals the recovery was in fact “dubious” and based on investor demand versus real home-buyers.

"People haven't been able to borrow for a mortgage for years."

Neil Irwin argues in the New York Times’ Upshot, confirming my friend's observation about housing and the general health of the economy, that the housing market is still stalling the economy. He points out that investment in residential property remains a smaller share of the overall economy than at any time since World War II, contributing less to growth than in past downturns, including the early 1980s when mortgage rates were 20% (compared to 4.5% currently).

Irwin argues if more people were buying homes and building returned to its postwar average as a share of the economy, growth would jump to 4% and about 1.5 million more jobs would be created. He says the main factor holding housing back is demand: Fewer people can or want to start a household of their own.

In Moore’s view, it's the other way around: It's the economy that's slowing the housing market. Factors including stagnant wages, high unemployment and high household and student loan debt are reasons why people aren't able to buy houses, says Moore. In other words, because the economy is stuck, the housing market is too.

All of it can be traced by to liberal left policies, and the damage they are causing the economy.

Without a vibrant free market, where government control, artificial stimulus plans and bond buying artificially hold up the financial structure, growth is unable to take hold.  People are afraid to spend, to take that big step to buy, because they are either not working, or they are not sure they will have a job next year.  Meanwhile, the dollar is losing strength.  People aren't even sure if the dollar they have today will be enough to pay their mortgage tomorrow.

As the old saying goes, government needs to get out of the way and allow the market to do what it does.  As long as liberal left policies dominate the landscape, growth will be slow.  Less government is the recipe for economic growth.

Six years in, Obama seeks “competent governmental management"; The lynching of Donald Sterling is uglier than the private remarks that ignited it; Idiot John Kerry's "Israel is an apartheid state" comment backfires and he's never been so insulted in all his life!; The most egregious case of fecklessness has been on Syria, but doubts about American dependability are far and wide; As Obama pretends to tighten sanctions, Russia notes its control of U.S. space access; and American foreign policy could use a dose of hard-nosed realism.

A few thoughts about modern education

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Schools no longer teach our children how to think, but instead attempts to teach them "what" to think.

Modern Academia teaches everyone to think the same.  People are easier to control that way, and division is easier to promote.  The current drive by academia kills independent thought, and quells innovation.  The liberal left doesn't trust individualism, and they are doing all they can to kill individual thought.  The leftists believe that society can only function properly if the ruling elite of the liberal left is guiding it.

Dumb the children down, and they will be easier to control as adults.

After all, according to the liberal left, the community is more important than the individual.  Individualism is dangerous.  Independent thought is dangerous.

Conform, or be expelled from society.

Class warfare is the goal.  The Bourgeois versus the Proletariat.

Can Rick Perry Make A Comeback?

by JASmius

Dick Morris seems to think so:

Of the defeated candidates left over from 2012, Santorum is probably too focused on social issues to win.
Doesn't matter.  The GOP "next in line" dynamic applies to nomination runners-up, not all "defeated candidates".  As Santorum was the runner-up in 2012, he will be the Republican nominee in 2016, provided the same dynamic holds (which it usually does), he runs (I'd be surprised if he didn't), and there actually is a 2016 election (you know my thoughts on that).

Cain and Bachmann can be dismissed as flashes in the pan, and the problems that knocked them out of contention have not gone away.

Their problem is that they weren't serious candidates.  And that's putting it bending-over-backwards charitably.

Romney probably won’t get a third chance. Even Nixon only got two.

Besides, why would he want to win two elections in a row and never get to be president?  Once is enough, I would think.

Newt inflicted too many wounds on others and on himself.

He had the same problem as Cain and Bachmann.

That leaves Rick Perry. Acceptable to Latinos based on his Texas record. Draws strong Tea Party support without being defined by it. A Southerner, he is clearly ready to play on the national stage. A big state governor whose record on jobs has only gotten better. He can’t be dismissed.

The aforequoted advantages were all present for Governor Perry the last go-round.  Yet he can be dismissed and will be, and we all know why:

Morris' best analogy is Bill Clinton's 1988 Democrat National Convention keynote speech, which was indeed a snoozer.  But the difference is obvious - Bill Clinton was a Democrat.  That "disastrous" convention speech wasn't endlessly replayed for years in the media and ridiculed relentlessly by the talking heads until Sick Willie was a national laughingstock drowning in public scorn.  But Rick Perry?  That fifty-three second brain fart is like Gerald Ford stumbling down the steps of Air Force One, Dan Quayle's "potatoe" debacle, Dubya's DUI, Mitt Romney's dog on the car roof.  The press will never, EVER let anybody forget it if RP takes a second crack at the metaphorical ten pounds of gold.  He would be treated, covered, and regarded as a joke anyway since he's southern and Bush43's successor; the "blank for the ages" would just run up the score.

So no, Dick, don't keep your eye on Perry; keep your eye on Scott Walker.  Provided, you know, that Rick Santorum doesn't run.

NBA Lynch Mob

By Douglas V. Gibbs

So much for a penny for your thoughts.  Now, your thoughts can cost you $2.5 million.

Welcome to Orwell's 1984.  Welcome to the future where thought-crime is punishable by lynch mob.

A part of what goes with freedom is the freedom to be an idiot, to be wrong, to fail, to piss people off, and yes, even to be a racist.  Sterling's words were insensitive, and his beliefs are not in line with what today's oversensitive society expects out of people.  And that is his prerogative.  What he believes is his opinion, and is his business.  Don't like it?  Don't buy tickets to the Clippers games.

I get it.  The NBA is a business, and they have a right to run their business as they want, and if they want to get rid of an owner because he does not fit within their business model, then that, as a business, is their choice.  But this really isn't about Sterling, or the Clippers.  It is a part of a much larger design to mold society into the image dreamed of by political zealots that believe if you say anything outside of their agenda, you must be punished.

Racism is a tool used to divide and conquer, to create chaos so that the leftist establishment can come in and fix the problem they created with bigger government, an increase of control, and more insidious regulations.

President Obama is heralded as being a Constitutional Lawyer, Constitutional Professor, and Constitutional Lecturer, but in reality, what he lectured on was how to use the 14th Amendment to create racial division.  His plans of divide and conquer are working perfectly, and the accusations of racism regarding Nevada rancher Bundy, and Donald Sterling are right on time.

While the liberal left foments racism, and push for us to be moral and fair to each other or else the lynch mob will come and get you, the same leftists agenda has done all it can to discredit the American Culture, eliminate all laws regarding morality calling them a violation of free speech and free press (now our children have porn in their pocket), and has presented homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy."

Most everyone will agree that the NBA has a right to run their business as they want.  If they want to ban Sterling, and take a chunk of change from him for his misbehavior, we are told, that is their decision.  You know, like that sign that says "This business has the right to refuse service to anyone."

Would the hypocrites of the liberal left agree with that statement if the NBA banned an owner for a racist rant against a white person?  How about if the NBA refused to sanction a gay marriage between a couple players, or refused to bake a cake for that gay wedding?  Would the statement about being able to run one's business as they like still apply?

One of the examples I use to explain the difference between a democracy and a republic is that if a man was accused of murder, and a lynch mob went out to find him, decided he was guilty, and hung him from a tree, that would be democracy in action.  However, if he was given due process, and the laws of the land were applied to the case, that is a republic.  In a democracy, if the majority believes you don't deserve your house for whatever reason they can come up with, the mob can take it from you.  They can take your kids.  They can decide to disallow people with green eyes to exist in their society, and then commit a genocide against all green-eyed people.  In a democracy, there are no checks and balances.  There are no freedoms.  Conform, or without even the opportunity to defend yourself, you are punished by the mob.  The mob dictates the terms.

Regarding Donald Sterling, the mob dictated the terms.  He was found guilty, and punished, because a bunch of people got all up in arms because of what he "thinks."

Are we prepared to go down the slippery slope of thoughtcrime?  Who will define what thoughts are acceptable, and what thoughts are punishable?

Sure, Sterling was an idiot.  He should have known better, being in the public eye, but even if his opinion is deemed wrong by the majority of society, is it right for them to then use a lynch mob to take millions of dollars from him, and take a sports franchise away from him, because his thoughts made their way to his lips in what became a sensationalized moment of verbal racism?

It amazes me, because the same people freaking out over the tape provided by Donald Sterling's young girlfriend that had the 80-year-old's racist comments on it, and the same people ready to put a noose around Sterling's neck, are the same people that shrugged off John Kerry's recent "apartheid" remark regarding Israel, the racist rants of Obama's reverent Jeremiah Wright, or ignore the "get whitey" games by knock-out thugs.  Did Democrat Party Senator Byrd's membership in the KKK bother you?  How about Lyndon B. Johnson's racist comments, and reluctance to sign the Civil Rights Act?  How about Harry Reid's remarks about Obama's "negro dialect," or Bill Clinton's comments about Obama would have been bringing coffee to him?  Does the fact that liberal left hero Woodrow Wilson segregated the U.S. Military after the Republicans had worked so hard to integrate the military?  When George Zimmerman was called a "creepy-ass cracker," according to Trayvon Martin's friend, Rachel Jeantel, didn't that bother you too?

People can't offend me.  I refuse to give anybody that kind of control over my emotions.  If they say something stupid, that is their opinion, and they are free to have it, say it, and think it.  If I don't like it, I just won't associate with them.

There are better ways to deal with people who hold racist opinions than to become the very lynch mob we accuse those racists of wanting to form.

Losing Ukraine

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Associated Press article begins:

HORLIVKA, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine's police and security forces are "helpless" to quell the unrest in two eastern regions bordering Russia and in some cases are cooperating with the pro-Russia gunmen who have seized scores of buildings and taken people hostage, Ukraine's leader said Wednesday.

Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov said his government's goal now was to prevent the agitation from spreading to other territories in the sprawling nation of 46 million people.

His interim government in Kiev and Western governments have accused Moscow of orchestrating the turmoil in eastern Ukraine, which borders Russia. The United States and the European Union rolled out new economic sanctions against Russia this week but Moscow has remained unbowed, denying its role in the unrest.

Turchynov spoke hours after pro-Russia gunmen seized more administrative buildings in eastern Ukraine.

A few years ago I wrote: "When we see the advancement of tyranny around the world, at some point it will become necessary for us to take action to stop it.  There will be a point when we must go from being Neville Chamberlain to General Patton.  This is especially true when the stated purpose of the growing tyranny is to occupy Europe, and to destroy Israel and the United States."

Granted, I was addressing Islam, but tyranny is tyranny, regardless of the form, and the same rules apply whether it is the spread of the disease of the false prophet Muhammad, or Russia creating an atmosphere of secession in eastern parts of Ukraine in order to pull those territories back into Putin's recreation of the Soviet Union.

I am not suggesting that we go bomb Moscow, but if Obama continues to portray the United States from a position of weakness, and the democrats continue to go around acting like this is some corporate takeover of Ukraine with language like calling it "unprofessional," Russia will not stop.  The Baltic States will be next, and then the rest of the former eastern European countries that were once behind the Iron Curtain, and then more.

Tyranny's appetite is insatiable.

If weakness continues to be the prevailing attitude now, down the road war will be inevitable.

GOP Responds To New Emails Pried Out Of Obama Regime On Benghazi

"Unlike those who insist on [getting to the truth of the events] in Benghazi, our focus remains on ensuring that a tragedy like this isn’t [uncovered] in Libya or anywhere else in the world. In our view, these documents only serve to reinforce [the lie] we have long been [tell]ing: that in the days after September 11, 2012, we were concerned by unrest occurring across the region and that we provided our best assessment of what was happening at the time."

Goodbye Sweet Sasha

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Sasha is the name of our Siberian Husky, who, thirteen years ago had been abandoned, and thrown in a trash bin as a newborn puppy.  We took her in, and she became a part of the family.  Sasha, as a puppy, was larger than our Maltese mix, Buddy.  Buddy was about a year old when Sasha came to live with us.  Sasha grew into a beautiful, large, and sweet Siberian Husky with one gray eye, and one brown eye.

When we first got Chewy, she tried to eat the chihuahua on the first day.  As time passed, they became friends.  When Chewy died last year, Sasha howled all night in mourning.

Buddy died an old man early last year, and Chewy died an old man at the tail-end of last year.  Now, it was Sasha's turn to succumb to old age.

Recently, we got a new puppy, a hyper Chorkie named Murphy.  Murphy adopted Sasha as his mama, and since Sasha passed away tonight, Murphy has been crying.  He misses her.  We let him in the house for a while to console him.  He's not his usual barking self.  He's calm, quiet, and alone.

He'll be fine in the long run, but I know how he feels.  I miss Sasha too.

She was breathing shallow when I got home from a doctor's appointment this evening.  She was lying on her side, and couldn't get up, so I brought her water, gave her affection, and checked on her every five minutes.  Murphy seemed to know something was wrong.  He was licking her face, and spending a lot of time with Sasha.  Now, she has passed.  My wife was at work, and after talking to her, the duty of taking care of the situation fell upon me.  With the help of wonderful neighbors, I took Sasha to the vet, and she will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at sea.  Her collar, pictures, and our memories keep her alive.  Yes, I know she was an animal, but that dog was a part of the family, and we will miss her dearly.

Murphy will have to get along alone, but we will make sure we spend time with him, like we did with Sasha.

The picture at the top is of Sasha and Murphy a few months ago.

White House Caught Urging Rice To Blame Benghazi On Video

by JASmius

"Urging"?  Ordering is more like it:

An email obtained by the government watchdog Judicial Watch shows that a senior White House official advised then-National Security Adviser Susan Rice to blame a spontaneous protest from a YouTube video for the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, Fox News reported.

Fox's chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported that the September 14, 2012, email shows that White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes advised Rice to focus on a YouTube video as the cause of a spontaneous protest, though transcripts have since been revealed to show that senior defense officials had informed the administration on the night of the event that the assault was a terrorist attack.

Rhodes outlined a number of talking points for Rice, with the advice "to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy."

"Now we know the Obama White House's chief concern about the Benghazi attack was making sure that President Obama looked good," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton  said in a statement.
Not exactly a news flash, is it?  Of course, these animals are like that 24/7/365, but under two months from O's (first) re-election showdown?  There was never a chance that the Regime wasn't going to look at Benghazi politically.  And we all know why: Red Barry had the CIA running guns to al Qaeda in Syria through the Benghazi arms warehouse consulate; letting it get out that the dictator was arming an archenemy of America for any reason, much less that that led to the Benghazi disaster, still less that the White House covered it up by coldly standing back and letting its Ambassador to Libya and three Navy SEALS be tortured and slaughtered, wouldn't have played well in swing states.  So a "progressive" alibi had to be fabricated, and the "Islamophobic" YouTube video was what they came up with.  Would it hold up under any level of scrutiny?  Not a chance; but it only had to for a couple of months, after which it wouldn't matter because, even if Republicans retained control of the House, their futile inquiries and subpoenas could easily be permanently stonewalled.

Hence....:

The Rhodes communications strategy email also instructs recipients to portray Obama as "steady and statesmanlike" throughout the crisis. Rhodes also says in the message that one of the goals is to "reinforce the president and administration's strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges."

.....for two additional months.  Another mission, accomplished.

I wonder if the Oval Office is running out of those banners.

Hitler Finds Out He Can't Keep His Doctor Under ObamaCare

by JASmius

This time, Hitler learns that he is losing his doctor because Dr. Steiner is not in the network for his new health insurance.

Actually, Adolph Hitler's personal physician was named Theodor Morell, and der Fuehrer liked his doctor very much, largely because the quack got and kept him hooked on the methamphetamine and other various and sundry potions on which he was dependent for the final dozen or so years of his miserable life.  So this parody is a pretty accurate depiction of what Hitler's reaction would have been if ObamaCare had stripped him of Dr. Morell's "services".

OTOH, one of the maladies for which Morell treated "'dolph" was extreme flatulence, so reducing greenhouse gases to combat global warming would doubtless have been O's principle justification.

Hoekstra: U.S. Buys Russian Helicopters, Helps Putin

by JASmius

You know, I'm a pretty knowledgeable World War II history buff, and I can't recall any instance where FDR purchased Panzer IV tanks or Me-109 fighter planes from Nazi Germany.  I lived through and was witness to the pacifistic nonsense of Jimmy Carter that almost cost America the Cold War and much, much more, and I don't ever remember Mr. Peanut buying MiG-25 Foxbat fighters or T-80 battle tanks from the Evil Empire.

So this story, how you say, grabbed my attention:

While President Barack Obama is busy announcing new sanctions against Russia for its continued hostilities in Ukraine, the U.S. government is secretly emboldening the Russian economy through a military contract, former Representative Pete Hoekstra says.

In an attempt to ratchet up pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, Obama outlined, from his trip in the Philippines, new sanctions against high-technology exports and  wealthy Putin allies.

But Hoekstra, a onetime Michigan congressman and former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV that while this is going on, the Pentagon is hiding "a dirty little secret" about the price the United States is paying as part of its military pullout from Afghanistan.

"As we're leaving, the Afghan military, they're looking for helicopters," Hoekstra explained. "They want about 90 attack helicopters. All right. You say, 'Hey, great! They're going to be buying 90 helicopters, that's going to be putting a lot of Americans to work.'

"Wrong. They're buying Russian helicopters for the Afghan military, and the interesting thing about helicopters is that they're high-maintenance. So, not only are we buying about a billion dollars' worth of Russian helicopters, but we're also providing the Russian military industrial complex, the people that build these helicopters, we're providing them with maintenance contracts that are multiple numbers of this one billion," he said Monday.

Obama apologists might point out that this Russian attack helicopter deal was in place long before Czar Vlad began his slow-motion conquest of Ukraine - or they may be even more proud of lining up as a loyal client of the Russian military-industrial complex now than they were before - but as with everything perpetrated by The One, there's a tyrannical punchline:

According to Hoekstra, the deal to purchase helicopters from Russia has been in place for some time, and Congress even attempted to stop the deal through the appropriations process because of Putin's support of Syrian President Bashar Assad. But Hoekstra said, "Obama just forgot about those restrictions and went beyond them."

"So now we've got the Russians in Syria, we've got them in Ukraine, they're creating mischief all over the place," Hoekstra said, "and we're buying Russian helicopters to give to the Afghans and the biggest promoter of this is the U.S. Pentagon."

Let's add this up: Putin's invasion of Ukraine is rolling ahead, unchallenged; Barack Obama continues to play his role in it as Vlad's bitch/court jester with these embarrassing "micro-sanctions" instead of targeting Putin's financial and energy sectors on which he lives; and O is enriching and empowering Putin by buying Russian attack helicopters with American taxpayers' money (and Janet Yellen's wastepaper) instead of selling the Afghans American attack helicopters, denying more work and jobs to Americans - and he's doing it illegally and unconstitutionally.

I guess he must be saving American attack helicopters for sale to Vlad personally.  Or maybe he'll just give them to neoCzar.  Red Barry is an awfully generous guy, after all.

On the one hand, it's almost piteous that libs' answer to everything, on every issue, is "You're a racist".  The term "racist" has been so completely drained of meaning that it's like a second F-word.  Go on YouTube and do a search for "Kevin Nash" - he's a noted semi-former pro wrestler who was a big star with the WWF and WCW in the 1990s as "Diesel" with the former and in the nWo with the latter - and watch the various and sundry nostalgia interviews he's done over the past few years.  What you'll soon discover is that his are among the most profane interviews you'll have ever seen primarily because of his ubiquitous use of the F-word.  "Yeah, I threw him off the f-ing ropes and hit him with the big f-ing boot and the crowd went f-ing wild," is standard "Big Sexy" dialogue.  It is possible to find Nash interviews where he's a bit more rhetorically disciplined, but not easy.  And it's a shame, because if you can mentally filter out all his f-bombs, "Big Daddy Cool" is a very well-spoken and articulate guy.  If he'd sanitize his language a bit more, he'd be a joy to listen to.

It's kind of like the difference between the George Carlin of the 1970s and early 1980s and Eddie Murphy in the '80s.  I probably have more tolerance for profanity than I should, but I can get a kick out of it in short bursts or when otherwise used occasionally.  The younger Carlin was a master at that and part of what made him so hilarious (much like Ron White today).  Whereas a great deal of Murphy's act back then was simply cussing for shock value, or so it seemed to me.  There simply wasn't any creativity involved.  I have no desire to listen to an act or an interview where every third word is "fuck" or a derivative thereof, but if it's used sparingly and creatively - check out Dr. Smoov's Transformers parodies - it can be highly entertaining.

All of the above to say that lefties have taken all the sting out of the R-word.  Time was when this kind of smear would trigger an Andrew Jackson-esque reaction.  Character assassination was fighting words way back in the nineteenth century for which John Kerry has so much disdain, and would lead to fistfights or pistol duels.  Maybe it was a tad Klingonesque, but personal honor meant something in those days, and if somebody did the equivalent of flipping you the double-bird right in your face, they were just asking to be punched right in theirs.  Repeatedly.

That's what the word "racist/racism" and all its synonyms have become for the Left.  So when the androgynous jackoffs on MSNBCCCP smear anybody who believes in the sanctity of human life, born and unborn, as "white supremacists," they might just as well be telling us to "f" off.  Indeed, they'd be better off doing so that way, because (1) it would be nominally more entertaining, (2) it might raise their ratings a tad above a flatline, and (3) it'd be a lot less incoherent, as the only substantive connection I know of between race and abortion is Margaret Sanger, the leftist Democrat who founded Planned Parenthood in part to carry out the genocide-by-attrition of the black "race".  Of the numerous adjectives that could be applied to that woman, "pro-life" is most definitely not among them.

Bob Schieffer: Romney May Run If Jeb Bush Doesn't

by JASmius

Yay?:

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney may take another run at the White House, "[Def]ace the Nation" host Bob Schieffer said.

The veteran CBS newsman said that despite Romney’s repeated claims that he’s not interested in joining the GOP race for 2016, the ex-Massachusetts governor could run if former Florida Governor Jeb Bush opts against seeking the nomination.

"I have a source that told me that if Jeb Bush decides not to run, that Mitt Romney may actually try it again," Schieffer said during a panel discussion on the CBS Sunday morning news show.

Unless that "source" is Mitt Romney himself, I wouldn't slam my nuts in a drawer over the specter of such a prospect, my Tea Party friends.

Which is something of a shame, actually.  In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and Mitt Romney all run in 2016, as that way there would be multiple RINOs battling over the "establishment" vote, while the conservative/grassroots/Tea Party vote would be wide open for a single candidate like Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to sweep, Reaganesquely, to the Republican nomination and the White House beyond.

And don't think the media doesn't realize this.  Hence, this frantic "any RINO we can find" ruminating.

Odd; doesn't Mr. Schieffer have any confidence that Barack Obama will pull off his coup?  Is the old man losing his faith?

The Bent Cost Curve

by JASmius

And ObamaCare did bend it - just in the direction opposite the one that its namesake promised:

As the midterm election approaches, vulnerable Democrats have a new worry that may be difficult to spin: Where did the promised $2,500 savings in health insurance premiums go?

As a candidate in 2008, Barack Obama repeatedly said his healthcare plan would reduce the typical family's annual premiums by up to $2,500 per year. Often, he did not include the caveat "up to," simply saying the "typical" family would save about $2,500 a year on premiums.

But now, a month past the signup deadline for coverage, comparisons for the typical family's then and now premium costs are difficult to come by. The Obama administration isn't issuing such numbers. At best, it has said the costs are "lower than projected," reported most recently by the Los Angeles Times.

But those lower-than-projected numbers refer to expectations when the [Una]ffordable Care[-Less] Act was passed in 2010, not when Obama made the promises of reduced premiums in 2008.

Which nobody was ever given any reason not to expect.  Supply and demand: Increase the demand for a vital good or service without increasing the supply of it - or, worse, diminishing it - and its price is going to skyrocket because the "suppliers" cannot expand "production" in order to have a broader base over which to spread the cost.  If the price is artificially lowered by government diktat, the result is shortages....rationing...."death panels".  It is inevitable.  Because nothing is "free".

Supply....demand.  A dynamic that cannot be switched off by waving a magic wand, or giving a tiresome speech of epic fecality.

Which is, in turn, why ObamaCare is not salvageable as a public relations matter.  To borrow a Tony Stark-ism, there is no throne, no version of this where Barack Obama and his party come out on top.  The public hates ObamaCare.  The public has always hated ObamaCare.  The public always will hate ObamaCare.  And there is no way to sell it to the public, no way of duping the public into believing this nonsensical "Success!" narrative, because there is always one more dysfunctional aspect or feature of ObamaCare to go the opposite way of how Barack Obama tried to sell it in the first place.  Cover all the uninsured?  ObamaCare took coverage away from millions of Americans who already had it.  Provide "better" coverage?  People liked the plans they had because their plans were tailored to their needs; now they get stuck with one-size-fits-all "comprehensive" ObamaCare plans that contain coverages they don't need.  Or they would if they could ever get through the damned cartel web portals.  If they did, they would have to pay vastly more than they did before, and would even if they could get equivalent plans to the ones they had - a dynamic that is spiraling ever and logarithmically upwards with no end in sight.

The Bent Cost Curve.  Except it got bent up instead of down.  Because nobody, not even a demigod, can bend a government fiscal cost curve downward.  And if they could, they wouldn't try, because that's not the purpose of the entire ObamaCare endeavor.

To borrow a Loki-ism, that's the plan.  Barack Obama's plan.  A plan he likes.  It is - perhaps - up to the voters if he's allowed to keep it.

"Dirty Harry" - Harry (G)Reid - & BLM land grabs, eyes 90,000 acres on Texas-Oklahoma border

Um, Judge, I've been calling Senator Pencilneck "Dirty Harry" for ten years; it's not all that original.  Of course, neither is, "Go ahead, Harry, make my day," but I can't take credit for that one.

Interesting that the mouthy old bastard's excuse for the BLM's withdrawal from Casa Bundy was that it was undertaken for "safety reasons".  Which is to say, Clive had armed defenders who could shoot back.  When the feds return for Round 2 - the ground for which has now been paved - they will have armored vehicles and machine guns, at a minimum.

Scientists have "Off Switch" for brain

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Playing God?  With genetic manipulation of animals, and plants, science has gone to lengths only science fiction authors once dreamed of.  Chimera and clones are a reality.  Genetically modified foods infest out supermarkets.  Perfect, carefully engineered babies are on the horizon.  But the latest headline caught my attention from a political point of view.  What if government found a way to shut down the brains of those they found to be dangerous to their power?  It creates a whole new way to look at the idea of "silencing the opposition."

It might look something like this:

Obama's Racist America

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Racism as far as the eye can see, according to President Barack Obama and the liberal left democrats.  The deconstructionist progressives have claimed from the beginning that this nation was founded on racist principles, and that the free market, and individualism, are racist concepts.  President Obama has accused the United States Constitution of being based on "negative liberties," meaning that it doesn't tell the federal government what it can do to ensure the collective is cared for by the ruling elite - making it a racist document.

Disagreement with the policies of President Barack Obama is always met with calls of racism, and racism is used as a tool whenever possible to destroy the opposition of liberal left policies.  Nevada Rancher Cliven Bundy, when approached by the mainstream media about his standoff with the federal government, was not asked about the standoff in the first question, but about race relations in the country.  Mr. Bundy gave an answer that basically called out liberal policies for their damage to minorities, but not being the most eloquent of speakers, the media contorted what he clumsily said, calling it a racist rant, and then immediately falsely reported that Bundy was losing support over his racism (as if his support was for reasons other than regarding the illegal actions of the federal government).

In Malaysia, President Obama accused the country of having much work to do in relation to human rights, and then added, "Just like the United States, by the way, has some work to do on these issues. Human Rights Watch probably has a list of things they think we should be doing as a government."

NBA Owner Donald Sterling, of the Los Angeles Clippers, is also under fire for alleged racist remarks.  The fact that he is a registered democrat is not being publicized, but daring to think in a manner not acceptable to the government, is.  His remarks?

• "It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you're associating with black people. Do you have to?"

• "You can sleep with them. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games."

• "I'm just saying, in your lousy [expletive] Instagrams, you don't have to have yourself with, walking with black people."

• "Don't put him [Magic Johnson] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don't bring him to my games."

Racist?  Perhaps.  Foolish to say?  Definitely.  Especially when you are in the spotlight.  Comments that should cause him to be a pariah?  That's a bit extreme.

The liberal left views the world through goggles of racism.  They see race everywhere they look.  They scrutinize everything said by "white people" so that they can pounce the moment anything comes within a parsec of being considered racist, even if it isn't.

That is how they convince voters to vote democrat.  Not by having good policies, or by winning in the arena of ideas, but by destroying their opposition by any means possible, be it honestly, or by deceit, and racism is the best tool to foment hate against one's opposition.

But when everything you see is through the lens of racism, who is the racists?

He who smelt it dealt it, right?

Let's not forget that the Republican Party was formed for the purpose of eliminating slavery, that the Democrat Party created the KKK to be its militant arm against blacks, that liberal progressive Democrat Woodrow Wilson was the president that began segregation of the military (after the Republicans had desegregated the military), and that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a Republican bill filibustered against by the democrats (like KKK Grand Wizard Robert Byrd, and liberal icon Al Gore Sr.).

Also, let's take the following into consideration:

Harry Reid: Called Obama, "'a light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.'"

Joe Biden: "You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."

Bill Clinton: Said of Obama, "'A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.' State Trooper Larry Patterson said Clinton used "ni***r to describe Jesse Jackson and Arkansas black activist Robert “Say” McIntosh.“ One of Clinton's girlfriends said, "Not only did he use the N-word, he called him a ‘GD-N’.”

Lyndon Johnson: "These Negroes, they're getting uppity these days. That's a problem for us, since they got something now they never had before. The political pull to back up their upityness. Now, we've got to do something about this. We've got to give them a little something. Just enough to quiet them down, but not enough to make a difference. If we don't move at all, their allies will line up against us. And there'll be no way to stop them. It'll be Reconstruction all over again."

Lyndon Johnson on how the war on poverty is a slavemaster’s fraud: ‘I’ll Have Those Niggers Voting Democratic For The Next 200 Years’

Now, who's the racists?

Palin: ‘If You Control Arms, You Control The People’

by JASmius

Saracuda plays NRA 2014.

My favorite line?:

"They are not right," she continued, referring to Obama's foreign policy efforts that "poke our allies in the eye, calling them adversaries, instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies. Enemies who would annihilate America. … But you can't offend them. Can't make them uncomfortable.

"Well, if I were in charge," Palin added, pausing for sustained applause from the audience, "they would know that waterboarding is the way we baptize terrorists."

Nice.

I do have a question about this quote:

"If you control oil, you control an economy. If you control money, you control commerce.  But if you control arms, you control the people," she added. "And that is what they're trying to do."

How and where does ObamaCare figure into this?

Also, Sarah Evans and Alabama?  Seriously?  If the NRA wants to be "cool," they have to ditch the hillbilly music and start booking the Rippingtons.

But then buried deep within Mrs. Palin's undiminished ability to "rally the faithful" is the faithful's evident inability to realize that she's never going to seek elective office ever again.

Yes, yes, I know, whadabout Ronald Reagan?  The Gipper served two full terms as Governor of California, and didn't go out of his way to piss off the entire party establishment in the process, while never once (seriously) compromising his conservative principles.  He didn't shiv Gerald Ford after heartbreakingly losing the 1976 GOP nomination to the then-president.  He painstakingly prepared the political ground for his 1980 presidential run, and the rest is history.  Whereas 'cuda served half a term as Governor of Alaska, quit, and has been pissing in the face of her own party for her entire tenure as a national political figure.  Big difference.

Put another way, Ronald Reagan could "rally the faithful" and still attract the "unfaithful".  Sarah Palin "rallies the faithful" and repels the "unfaithful" like a fart in church.  Of which she is perfectly well aware, which, in turn, is why in reality, she ceased being a national political figure years ago, and is today a national celebrity, which is a very different thing (if you're not Barack Obama).

Will she ever let "the faithful" in on her little not-so-secret?

Dennis Michael Lynch Addresses IRSgate & Clive Bundy

by JASmius

Investigative filmmaker and Editor of dmldaily.com, Dennis Michael Lynch, discussed IRS bonuses and the Bundy Ranch standoff in Nevada.

Harry (G)Reid said, "Something will happen to Clive Bundy"?  Y'know, I wasn't joshing when I called the Senate Majority Chisler "Don Reidone," but I didn't imagine he would ever be this publicly candid about it.

Bundy is the last rancher left in his county?  Sounds to me like he's the "endangered species".

We're "the Titanic headed towards the iceberg"?  Sorry, Dennis, we hit that iceberg 537 days ago.

And...we're now Venezuela?  Um, I prophesied that almost six years ago.

Pastor Manning, CORE's Nigel Innis Support Clive Bundy

by JASmius

On Cliven Bundy's "picking cotton" reference: James David Manning has the proper context.

Or pretty much what I wrote the other day.  Which means JASmius echo syndrome is "diverse" as well.

Of course, Clive wouldn't have needed the press conference (which the Obamedia will totally ignore, since they got from him the propaganda narrative they wanted) to clarify his answer to the question that should have set off his mental alarm claxons as....

....the trap it so gapingly obviously was if he'd had the PR acumen to ask the question of why the biggest newspaper in the country and house organ of the Democrat Party wanted to interview him.

Too late now.  Clive Bundy is "officially" a racist, as is - "officially" - anybody who still supports him.  And when the BLM returns for round #2, they've got the PR cover they need to do more than slaughter just a few dozen head of his cattle.

It won't be the Second Battle of Bundy Hill; it'll be the First Battle of Harper's Ferry, and a harbinger of the conflagration to come.

Oregon Taxpayers 'Stuck' With $303 Million Bill From Failed ObamaCare Site

by JASmius

Remember the, er, "high" hopes with which Oregon's ObamaCare cartel, "Covered Oregon," fell off the cliff?

Remember how quickly "Covered Oregon" reached terminal parody velocity?

Well, my fellow (through Intern Missius) Granolans, you never will, because the plug has been pulled, and guess who's got the bill coming their way like the Sweet Meteor of Death?:

Republicans slammed the taxpayer waste from scrapping Oregon's $303 million, problem-plagued ObamaCare health exchange on Friday, citing it as yet another example of why the healthcare law should be repealed.

"Once again, ObamaCare causes chaos and confusion for Oregonians," Representative Greg Walden, the state's only GOP member of Congress, said in a statement. "Today, the same board that oversaw the colossal waste at Cover Oregon voted to throw in the towel, and taxpayers are left stuck with the bill.

To which the only allowable solutions are (1) to spend three times as much taxpayer money on a second attempt or (2) collapse healthcare.cov by leaping on that buck-buck pile.

Ha ha - trick question.  Oregonians already jumped on O's buck-buck pile.  Did they collapse it?  Who knows?  It's not like The One would ever stride colossally into the rose garden and announce THAT on April Fool's Day, nor the Obamedia report it as anything other than a "complete success".  Leave it to the Left to spoil even so majestic a Klingon term as "qapla!"

"The board should explain further to the taxpayers of Oregon and the nation how exactly this massive failure happened."

Which is a certainty, given the lengths to which they went to conceal its colossal failure up to now.

Jahan Wilcox, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, said: "It's remarkable that Cover Oregon was such a disaster that moving into the troubled HealthCare.gov is considered an improvement."

He also referenced  U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley's support of the [Una]ffordable Care[-Less] Act in 2010. The Oregon Democrat, who has since distanced himself from the beleaguered law, is seeking re-election this fall.

Lotsa luck with that little project, Jeff.

"Oregonians can give themselves a real upgrade by firing Senator Jeff Merkley, whose deciding vote for Obamacare resulted in the creation of Cover Oregon," Wilcox said.

Lotsa luck with that little project, Jahan.  "Keep Oregon weird," remember?  Which I guess now should be revised to read, "Keep Oregonians broke."  Only way to do that is for Oregon voters to keep voting for Democrats.  Gotta keep those granola entitlements flowing, after all.

According to Cover Oregon officials, fixing the troubled portal would have cost $78 million and would have taken too long. Using HealthCare.gov, which has had its own share of glitches and problems since the Obamacare rollout, would cost just $4 million to $6 million.

"I don't know that anyone in the room is excited about going down this path," Liz Baxter, who chairs the Cover Oregon board, said in a report in the Oregonian. "But I think it's the only option."

So it requires a thirteen-fold level of savings before Oregon Marxists can be remotely convinced to go with the less expensive fiscal option?  Well, that certainly helps explain more than a few things.

But I saved the best punchline for last:

The state enthusiastically embraced Obamacare, and the website had been a pioneer for state marketplaces.

Not "had," skeeziks; is.  And that's the weirdest part of all.

Russian Troops Move Into Action At Ukraine Border

By Douglas V. Gibbs

It amazes me how pathetic the White House is in regards to how it is approaching the Russian threat to Ukraine, and ultimately, the world.  I am not suggesting we go into Moscow with guns blazing, but you don't work with these people acting like Neville Chamberlain.  It's like playing poker.  You keep your poker face on your mug in a particular manner, so that your opponents believe you have a powerful hand at all times, even when you don't.

Barack Obama, and company, are not only acting like a bunch of scared chickens, but they are reducing our ability to respond as Russia does what they are doing, and they are doing it all for Russia to see.

Yet, as they reduce the size of our military capabilities, the money being pumped into the United Nations is being increased to $3.6 Billion!

The line of thinking is "If we disarm, and make nice-nice with the U.N., then they will too.  They will see our lead and follow."

That is not how bad guys think.

What the White House is doing is telegraphing to Putin a message of weakness, and he is jumping all over it.

The invasion of Ukraine is in place, and underway.  Pro-Russian factions have taken control of key eastern Ukrainian cities.  And Putin is fine with it, waiting for the moment to do what he did in Crimea, and what Hitler did in Czechoslovakia.

The Russian troops at the border are drilling, also.  Watching.  The Ukraine has hit a few pro-Russian groups, and it won't take long before Russia goes into action in the name of defending their Russian Nationals in Ukraine.

And don't think the threat of sanctions, or something like that, has Putin concerned.  Barack "Neville Chamberlain" Obama is the least of Putin's worries.
